152. lifeguard

So today was any like every average day on the beach. I was on life guard duty as always. I notice this large group of guys heading towards my tower where I look out for any mishaps in the water. They set their stuff right next to our tower. I say our because I'm head of this tower and I am in charge of the tower 2 team. We all get along well and work together to make sure these people are safe at all times.

I notice on of the guys from this group. Curly brown hair, tall, muscly and very handsome. He seemed to be enjoying the time with his friends and his small amount of time at the beach already.

I start looking all around the beach to see whether everything is ok and for now it was. I look over to where the group of guys are and that one guy that intrigued me was staring at me when he realised I looked over he turned his head away. I smiled at the fact that he was staring. Someone from my team tells me over.

Someone is caught on a fishing line far out into sea and waves are crashing over this person and they are struggling to breathe because of it.

"GUYS GO GET THE JET-SKI READY AND GO GET ME SOMETHIBG TO CUT THAT LINE AND A LIFE JACKET WE HAVE A LIFE TO SAVE. GO!GO!GO!"

We all run down the tower steps and run towards the end of the beach. Max has got me the jet ski ready so I sit on that behind him and jess gives me a wire cutter and a life jacket. Max sets off with the jet ski and we are going as quick as possible to help this person. We stop in front of this person. I stand up on the jet and jump in the ocean and dive deep to cut the wire. It takes me a couple of minutes but I do it.

"Ok I've cut the wire pls put the life jacket  on and get on the jet and go back with max I'll swim back to shore."

They get back before me obviously and when I get back jess has a towel ready for me. I put it on and head back to the tower.

When I get there that guy is there waiting.

"Hey I'm shawn." He says dazzling the cutest smile.

"Hi I'm Y/N."

"I just wanted to say that was a nice save out there."

"Oh thanks it's my job so. Is there anything I can help you with?" I ask.

"Well I was wondering if you...um...maybe...wanted to go out some time. Ever since I got here I haven't been able to take my eyes off you."

"Um..yeah sure I'd like that a lot."

"Awesome so when do you finish?"

"At 4 why?"

"I'm going to take you out when you finish is that ok?"

"Sounds perfect."

"Great I'll see you later Y/N."

"Bye shawn."

The date went well, we had lots of fun and got to know each other better. We went on a few more dates afterwards and then shawn asked me out. We were the happiest we have both been together in ages.

I'm so glad I became a lifeguard otherwise I wouldn't have met the love of my life.
