6. your brother's best friend

You were home with your brother Matt. Your parents went away for a month but you are used to it. They are never really home because their job includes travelling a lot. Your brother is older than you and is 20 years old so he is able to look after you which means you don't have to stay at a relatives house because even though you are 18 years old your parents don't want you home alone. You are downstairs alone face timing your best friend who moved away a while ago. After a long conversation she has to go because of time zones so you say Your goodbyes and hang up. Your brother is upstairs doing god knows what. You loved eachother a lot and he has been there for you the most but sometimes you both need your space. He told you earlier that he was inviting his best friend Shawn over. And you are not gonna lie that you like him. He is always polite to you and never leaves you out. He has the cutest smile and he's just cute in general but obviously he can't know that and you can't date your brother's best friend. You hear a knock at the door and your brother yells to open it. You get up and walk to the door. You are greeted with your favourite smile. He says "Hey where is Matt." You let him come in and then said " he's in his room like always you should know this by now." He laughs and heads upstairs. You are watching tv and get interrupted by two people laughing and stomping down the stairs. They come into the living room where you are sat and they both sit next to you. There is Shawn on one side and Matt on the other. You look at them and go "can I help you?" Your brother tells you he is going shopping and Shawn doesn't want to go so while he is shopping Shawn is going to keep you company. You just now your head as a sign to say ok. Matt kisses the top of your head and leaves. For a few minutes there is awkward silence. He starts to talk and you both end up in a deep conversation. This makes you fall in love with him even more at the fact that he is trying to make conversation with you. You look away to check your phone because it starts to ring and it's your bestie. You answer "yo what's up?" She speaks really fast and you don't understand so you and her to repeat. She breaks down into tears and says "Y/N we broke up and not only that we broke up because I walked in on him with another girl and kissing her and trust me if i didn't go in it would have gone further." She is full on crying.
"Look Liv forget about him if he wanted to do that then it's his loss for losing out on you because you are amazing. Ok don't think any different because of a guy alright? You can come over later and stay the night I have lots of ice cream and movies we can watch Ok?" She lightly laughs and says "Ok I'll start getting ready to come round thank you for doing this love you."
"No problem love you too hun see you in a bit."
You apologise to Shawn about that he says it's fine. You stare at eachother and you see him leaning in so you lean in aswell but before you both kiss your brother walks in with shopping. You both help him put the shopping away. Your brother starts to speak " Shawn is staying over tonight." You nod so he knows you mean ok. You start to speak
"Oh Matt Liv is coming over and if either of you interrupt us because she is is really upset and she needs me so we are going to be eating ice cream and watching romantic films so I don't think you want to be here. Speaking of her she is here so bye guys enjoy your night." You walk away to open the front door and you take her to the kitchen to grab the ice cream. Shawn was there getting a drink he smiles and winks at you and you smile back going a little bit red. You drag Liv upstairs and start watching films. You hear a knock at the door and it's Shawn saying that Matt made us all food. We all go down but me and liv go in the opposite room and I can see out the corner of my eye that Shawn is staring at me Olivia asks about me and him. You tell her you like him but not loud enough so that he will hear and tell her about what almost happened before she got here. You all finish food and then watch a film together all four of you. Matt and Olivia go upstaira to fall asleep because they were tired leaving you and Shawn awake. He comes over and sits next to you. He takes a deep breath and grabs your hands and he looks in your eyes. "Y/N this for me is really important and I get if you find this weird but I really need to say this now. I really like you. Every time I see you I get nervous and my heart skips a beat. I get that I'm your brother'sbeat friend but your brother is ok with this he was the one that told me to tell you because he knew I liked you and I just couldn't hold this in any longer and knowing that your brother was ok with this I wanted to tell you. I understand if you don't feel the same...." You cut him off by grabbing his face and kissing him. You pull away and go " I like you too." He smiles and kisses you again. "Will you be my girlfriend?" "Of course I will Shawn I wouldn't want it any other way." You spend the night cuddling and fall asleep together.
