31. popular and not so popular

Shawn Mendes most popular boy in our year even school. I wasn't popular but I wasn't a really unpopular person. I would say I was average. I didn't think Shawn even knew who I was until him and his friends asked to sit with me and my friends at lunch the other day. That was only mainly because there wasn't many places to sit.

We said yes because we didn't want to be rude. Every now and then I caught Shawn staring at me but I didn't think into it. Yeah me and him talk occasionally I have to he's my next door neighbour and our families get along really well meaning his family and my family always hang and have meals every week.

"Y/N is it the family meal tonight?" Shawn asks.

"Yeah it is."

"Ok thank you." He smiles at an after saying that and his smile is to die for.

Me and Shawn have really good conversations when it is just us two. We always talk on the balconies of our rooms. But at school we don't really talk to eachother.

I guess you could say I have a little crush on him but its just a crush nothing major.

Tonight was our family meal night meaning me and Shawn will be hanging out. It's great because I can be myself around him with him being popular and just judging me all the time. He gets me a lot and honestly I've seen a side of him no one else has.

He's so sweet and has told me he feels like because he is popular he has to be good all the time and it puts pressure on him. I get it though. People want us to be something or someone we are not they expect us to he like this or that all of the time and it's annoying.

Me and Shawn have gotten really close lately and honestly he has started to hang out with me at school and doesn't care what people say.

Shawn and his family arrive and me and Shawn go upstairs to the balcony while food is cooking. We are talking and laughing and just having so much fun.
He gets his guitar and starts playing random notes.

"Shawn?"

"Yeah?"

"Will you play me a song?"

"Sure. Which song do you want me to play for you?"

"Can you play life of the party?"

"Of course hun."

He starts singing and his voice is angelic. I can see how much passion he is putting into singing me this song even though it isn't one of his love performances in front of thousands of people.

He finishes his song and I just smile at him.

"Wow."

"Thank you Y/N."

We are looking into eachothers eyes and I see him moving his guitar away and him moving closer. He starts to lean in and so do I. We are getting closer and closer....

"Shawn... Y/N dinner is ready."

We pull away and we walk downstairs while we walk Shawn grabs my hand.

Me and Shawn are sat next to eachother at the dinner table and I feel him hold my hand under the table and honestly it's making my heart melt.

We finish food and me and Shawn decide to go up to my room for a bit.

"What do you want to do Shawn?"

"Idk we could always admire the stars in the sky."

"Sounds good."

We both go outside and look at the stars Shawn comes behind me and hugs me from behind.

"The stars are beautiful."

"Not as beautiful as you Y/N."

I turn around and his arms still wrapped around my waist.

"That was cheesy you know?"

"Yeah but it doesn't matter."

I laugh a little. He tucks a loose strand of my hair behind my ear.

"You are so good damn beautiful." He says before leaning down and connecting my lips to his.

My hands go around his neck pulling on the little curls at the back of his neck. The kiss is soft and gentle and lasts a couple of minutes before we are out of breath. We both pull back.

"Wow." I say.

"Yeah wow." Shawn says.

"Y/N I really really like you. I don't care what the whole popularity system has to say because I like you and that won't  stop me because I like you too much to let you slip out of my hand. I really like you."

"I really like you too Shawn and I don't care what people say I just want to be with you."

"Well then will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes I would."

He leans down and kisses me again we are both smiling during the kiss.

We decide to watch movies in my room and cuddle up on the bed and we fall asleep together arm in arm.

Hi guys sorry I haven't updated in a while I've been really busy with school work. Also it's ya girls 15th Birthday on Wednesday so I won't be updating then.
