"Lyra, will you get your brother?" Orion asked over the Daily Prophet. "It's supper time."
"Go get him yourself, will you?" Lyra said rudely, cutting her pankakes. She still hadn't forgotten when he woke up and started firing spells at her, saying he shouldn't wake him up by poring ice down his pants. "I'm eating."
"Why?" Regulus asked curiosly, his hair was chopped short, Lyra never let him get away what he did a month ago, so she made true with her promise. Regulus had woke up bald and his hair was finally starting to grow back. "He's not sleeping is he? It's not lights out."
"What are you, five?" Lyra snapped, still not fogiving him. "We don't have a bed time. We sleep when we please."
Regulus blushed. "Still. Is he asleep?"
"Yes, Regulus, if you must know; Sirius is asleep." It felt odd for Lyra to call her brother 'Sirius' because she was so used to his nickname 'Padfoot' but her family didn't know about the nicknames.
"That boy," Walburga said. She was listening in on their conversation. "He's so lazy. I'll wake him up."
Lyra amused herself at the image of Sirius firing spells at Walburga, but she knew if that really happened it would end up with Sirius in a coffin six feet under.
Ten minutes later, Lyra heard shouting from up the stairs, even a bit of crashes, as though someone was throaing something.
"ARE YOU MAD? JAMES GOT ME THAT FOR CHRISTMAS!" Lyra heard Sirius shout as another thing crashed. "STOP WOMEN!"
"JAMES? JAMES?" Walburga cried. "SO YOUR STILL FRIENDS WITH THAT POTTER? i TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY FROM HIM!"
"YOU DON'T HAVE A SAY IN WHO I'M FIRENDS WITH!" Sirius yelled baclk.
"I'VE NEVER FELT SO BETRAYED! YOU ARE MY SON! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO RESPECT ME!"
"OH, SORRY IF I'M NOT THE PERFECT SON, MUM!" Sirius snarled. "NOW GET OUT OF MY ROOM!"
There was another crash.
"STOP THROWING MY THINGS!" Sirius roared.
"AND WHAT ARE THESE POSTERS DOING ON THE WALL? WHY AREN'T THEY MOVING? ARE THOSE MUGGLE GIRLS?" Walburga roared.
There was a noise, as though someone were struggling to tare the poster off the wall.
"YOU PERMANATLY GLUED IT!" Walburga accused.
"WELL I HAVE TO FIND SOME WAY TO KEEP MY STUFF!" Sirius sounded furious. "YOU DON'T THINK I DON'T SEE KREACHER SNOOPING AROUND HERE AT NIGHT? I KNOW YOU PUT HIM UP TO IT!"
"TAKE THESE POSTERS DOWN NOW!" Walburga screamed, ignoring his earlier comment. "YOU ARE IN A SLYTHERIN HOUSE, YOU SHALL NOT HAVE RED AND GOLD POSTERS!"
"I'M A GRYFFINDOR!"
"IN A SLYTHERIN HOUSE!" Walburga shreiked. "AS LONG AS YOU LIVE IN THIS HOUSE YOU SHALL RESPECT OUR RULES! i GIVE YOU A PLACE TO SLEEP EVERY NIGHT, FOOD THREE TIMES A DAY, AND THE CLOTHES ON YOUR BACK! THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS LISTEN TO ME!"
"LEAVE MY ROOM, YOU OLD BAT!" Sirius said.
There was a slam and someone storming down the stairs. Walburga opened the dining room door, looking wuite deranged. Lyra blinked, she had never seen her mother so out of control. Regulus looked quite scared.
Walburga collpased onto the chair next to Regulus and she scooped him into a tight hug. Regulus looked relieved.
"Why can't he be more like you?" Walburga whispered. "Oh, where did I go wrong?"
"You did nothing wrong, my dear," orion said, patting her back soothingly. "There is always a bad egg in the family."
Walburga wiped the tears out of her eyes. "In our case we have three; Sirius, Lyra and Andromeda."
"Andromeda isn't part of our family anymore," Regulus reminded.
Lyra, feeling as though she was intruding on a family moment, left the room.
