"That was one of the best nights we ever had," Lyra laughed loudly the next day.
She and Sirius were walking through a deserted corridor to go to the kitchens, they were feeling very snacky.
"My favorite part was men Prongs tripped over Wormtail," Sirius laughed. "I've never seen anyone get up so awkwardly."
"Well, you can't blame him," said Lyra seriously. "Imagine. . . having to walk on sticks for legs."
They were roaring with laughter when they heard footsteps behind them. They weren't normal footsteps either, they were the kind of footsteps of someone who was trying not to be heard. They both stopped laughing instantly and whipped out their wands.
"Show yourself!" Lyra commanded. "Or I'll hex you so bad you won't be able to make it out of the hospital wing in a whole month."
The quiet footsteps stopped emmidiatly. They stopped right behind a suit of armor.
Sirius pressed his finger to his lips , telling Lyra to be silent. They both crept as silently as possible to the suit of armor. That was when Lyra saw a hooked nose peaking around the armor.
"Well, look who it is," Lyra sneered. "Why you little stalker - what do you think you're doing following us?"
Snape whipped out his wand, but Sirius had already disarmed him before he could do a spell.
"Snivelly!" Sirius said, stepping around the suit of armor to see the pale slytherin. "What an unpleasant surprise!"
"I guess it shouldn't be a surprise at all, considering he's been stalking us for the past five years," Lyra said nastily. "I guess he has nothing better to do, since he has no friends."
Snape sneered at her, before making a lunge for his wand.
"Oh, no you don't, Slytherus Snape!" Lyra said mockingly. "Inpedimenta!"
Snape froze on the ground, both of his hands clamped to his side, his nose sticking up in the air.
"How dare you follow us, Snivellus!" Lyra hissed. "Haven't we threatened you enough?"
"Yeah, we have a life around you," Sirius added. "We don't really want to see your ugly little face every where we go."
"It's already given me nightmares," Lyra said softly.
Snape sneered at the two over them, the spell was wearing off.
"Stop following us, Snivelly," Lyra said. "It's getting old."
"It's getting old?" Sirius said shocked. "It got old a long time ago! Maybe days ago-"
"Weeks ago-"
"Months ago-"
"No, years ago," They both finished, glaring down at Snape below them.
"Now this is the last time we'll let you off with a warning, Snivellus," Lyra said, her voice low. "I'm really getting sick of you."
"Come on, let's go find Prongs," Sirius said, grabbing his sisters elbow and leading her away from Snape, who was propped up on his elbows now.
"I know where you and your friends go every month now, Black!" Snape holloered to them. "I've seen Madame Promfrey taking Lupin down their! Then you two, Potter, and Pettigrew come to breakfast all tired as though you stood up all night - so you were with him too!"
Sirius' grip on Lyra's elbow tightened, and he glared over his shoulder at Snape, who was now on his feet.
"You got proof, Snivellus?" Sirius asked quietly, though his voice carried down to Snape, who smirked in satisfaction; he had managed to scare Sirius Black.
"No, not yet," Snape sneered. "But I will. I have a theory on whats wrong with Lupin, and I'm going to find out next full moon."
"Not possible," Lyra said, an idea forming in her head as she and Sirius turned to stare at Snape. "You won't be able to get past the branches."
"You and Potter do it, so can I," Snape said, he said 'Potter' as though it were something nasty.
"Yeah, but we have a way to get by it," Sirius said, catching on to Lyra's thoughts as though reading them.
Snape looked confused as to why they were telling him this and not firing a hex at him with a warning to never follow them again.
"Pull the knot at the base of the tree and the Whomping Willow won't hit you," Lyra and Sirius said in harmony. Then, without a second glance, they left the corridor, to leave Snape to his thoughts.
