The next day was very silent.
Walburga had red and puffy eyes from the fight, and Lyra couldn't get over the fact that someone as heartless as her mother managed to cry.
Walburga, Orion, Lyra, and Regulus sat around the quiet table, eating thier breakfast. No one mentioned that Sirius wasn't there. Finally, though, Walburga got tired of it.
"Lyra get Sirius out of his room and tell him to come down and eat breakfast, now," Walburga commanded.
"Okay, I'll just leave my breakfast here so you can spit in it," Lyra said sarcastically. "Make Kreacher get him."
Before Walburga could snap at her, Orion called Kreacher into the room.
"Yes Master?" Kreacher asked politely.
"Get Sirius down here to breakfast," orion said. "Don't take no for an answer."
"Yes Master," Kreacher bowed low and hurried out of the room.
He came back a minute later with a small note in his hands. He stood up straight and placed it on the table in front of Walburga.
"Master Sirius has left a note on his unmade bed, but he is not present in his untidy room," Kreacher said. Lyra rolled her eyes.
Orion picked up the note and cleared his throat. "Dear Mum, I have decided to run away. I remember what you said yesterday, about while I live in this house I should listen to you. Well, I decided not to live in this house anymore. It shouldn't come as a shock, considering we fight every day, and we hate eachothers guts. So I'm really doing us both a favor.
All my loathing,
Sirius Black"
Orion glanced at his wife, who looked as though she were going to burst into tears.
"My son ran away?" Walburga croaked, her voice scratchy.
The dining room was silent. Walburga got to her feet and slowly left the room, as though she were about to do something that she never wanted to do, but she had prepared herself to. There was a loudbang and then they heard a thud.
The family got out of their seats hurriedly and ran into the room, where their family tree was painted on the walls. Lyra saw her mother in tears on the floor, her crumpled figure shaking unconrtollably. Then she smelled smoke.
Her eyes bulged out at what she saw. Where her and SIrius had been, were two large holes.
"Where's my picture!" Lyra said, her temper flaring at her mother. "Am I disowned?"
"I like I didn't know?" Walburga cried, lifting up her head and glaring at her only daughter. "You two have been planning to run away since you got here! I imagine the only reason why you stayed was to see me crying - it might even be a good show for you!"
"it is quite amusing," Lyra said savagely, though everything her mother said was completely false. "So do I have time to pack my bags or are you just going to get Kreacher top fling me out the window?"
"Leave my sight!" Walburga wailed. "I should have disowned you the moment I knew about your Potter friend! But I thought I could change you! I thought if I treated you like I should then you would be just like Bellatrix!"
Lyra smiled in amusement. Just like Bellatrix? She would rather die then be like her.
"And don't smirk at me like that!" Walburga's eyes were bloodshot. "You should hear how Druella talks about her daughter! Such a fine young lady! And when ever I brag about Regulus she asks me about my other two! You've embarrassed the name of Black - and I want you OUT!"
"You could have just said you want me to leave," Lyra said cheekily. "You didn't have to scream a whole monologue."
And with that, Lyra left her sobbing mother with the res of her family and kreacher. She ran up to her room and started to grab everything she laid her hand son, then stuffed them in her bag. It didn't take long to pack, because she always kept almost everything inside of her Hogwarts Trunk, but then she grabbed extra stuff.
She silently thanked her Uncle Alphard for giving her and Sirius all of his money in his will before passing away to the after life.
When she left the house she was surprised that she didn't feel scared at all; she felt relieved. She should have ran away ages ago. But why didn't she?
While Lyra walked around the streets of London, she knew the answer to that question. She had always wondered if her mother really loved her like a mother should, and a mother who loved her daughter would never give up.
Lyra stopped emmidiatly. Walburga Black never loved her, and before Lyra could feel heartbroken at that she stopped feeling. Why should she feel heartbroken for someone who never loved her in the first place?
She gulped and shook her head. She had to find Sirius, she had to tell him what had happened. But where was he? The answer came to her the second she thought it.
James' house.
