The Potters and Sirius were eating around the dinner table, all of them talking cheerfully.

"I'm telling you, Mum," James said. "Padfoot cheated!"

"I didn't cheat!" Sirius protested while the two parents chuckled. "I just. . . thought outside the box."

"Oh, yeah, that's what you call it?" James said, amused.

"Ask Mr. Potter, he knows," Sirius said, turning to the man with greying hair. "Is moving the wrong peice in Wizards Chess considered cheating?"

"Last time I checked it was," Mr. Potter chuckled.

"Ha!" James laughed, pointing his fork at his best friend. "That means that your a cheater and I'm a-"

There was a knock on the door.

"James can you get the door?" Mrs. Potter asked nicely.

"Sure, Mum," James said kindly, though he was a bit sad. His parents were on the old side, and it was getting harder for them to do stuff for themselves. He dreaded the day they would pass on.

James opened the door and almost choked on the piece of waffle he had in his mouth.

"Claws?" James asked, gawking at the grey eyed girl standing in front of him with a sheepish smile.

"Hi, Prongs," Lyra tucked her lucious black hair behind her ear. "Is Padfoot here?"

"Yeah, come in," James led her to the dining room where Mr and Mrs. Potter were speaking with Sirius.

"Padfoot!" Lyra said, the second he seen her.

Sirius blinked. "Claws?"

Lyra smiled. "You and Prongs have some brilliant reactions."

"So this is the famous 'Claws' the boys always speak about," Mr. Potter said, getting to his seat and shaking her hand.

"And you must be Prongs' Dad," Lyra said.

"Yes, he is," Mrs. Potter said. "Do you want something to eat?"

Lyra's eyes traveled to the plates full of waffles and pankakes and her eyes widened slightly, but no other reaction came out of her.

"Oh, no thank you," Lyra said, then she turned stiffly to her brother. "Can I talk to you Padfoot?"

"Sure," Sirius stared at her.

"Alone?" Lyra hinted.

"Oh!" Sirius said. "Okay."

Sirius led her to the family room and closed the door behind him.

"What did you want to tell me?" Sirius asked. "And why did you look at the waffles like that?"

"I wanted to tell you that Mum disowned you because you ran away," Lyra said quickly. "And then she disowned me afterwards and I wanted to tell you because you're the only one I could talk to about Mum and her craziness." Lyra took a deep breathe. "And we were eating waffles."

Sirius frowned. "She disowned you?"

Lyra nodded.

"Why?"

"She thinks I was going to run away also. Which makes no sense because I'll have no where to go." Lyra said.

"But you do have somewhere to go," Sirius objected. "Mr. and Mrs. Potter were expecting you to come and look for me, they asked if I can ask you to stay with us."

Lyra looked up at Sirius under her eyelashes. "They ivited me to stay with them?"

"Yeah," SIrius grinned. "And since you just admitted that you have no where to go; what brother will I be if I let my sister go out in the street?"

"A very bad one," Lyra laughed.

Sirius grinned. "So it's official. We are now Potters."
