Everyone was sad. Not only Harry and Remus and the Blue family but everyone.
Anyone who knew Will Blue saw him as a charming boy who was always there for his friends. Not even the Slytherins could hate him, not even if they tried - which, knowing the Slytherins, they did. So when news spread that the once handsome boy got his face ruined by Death Eaters all the girls in Hogwarts were weeping into a close friend's chest, all of the boys were grim, and all of the professors were mourning.
Will wasn't doing much better.
He was humiliated, terrified of leaving the Hospital Wing. When he found out that in the act of saving his little sister he got scarred for life he sunk into deep sadness.
His beautiful face was contorted with scars that could almost rival Mad-Eye Moody's, and some of the scars past over his eyes, if they had been any deeper, he would most likely be blind. He didn't look remotely handsome now.
If a muggle were to see him walk by, they would run - thinking he was some kind of mutant or something.
"Will. . . I - I'm so sorry," Lynx said to him, holding his scarred hands in her soft ones. Looking at them, she tried to imagine if it was the other way around, his perfect hands in her scarred ones, she barely supressed a convulsive shudder. "This is all my fault. I should have listened to you."
"It's not your fault, Lynx," Will said, swallowing the resentment he felt for his little sister and smiling at her. The smiling didn't help, because one of his scars opened up and he started bleeding again.
Madame Promfrey then ushered everyone out of the Hospital Wing and worked on her pateint with teary eyes.
Only one person was stubborn enough to stay, and that was Lyra Blue. Madame Promfrey tried everything to get Lyra to leave, but Lyra would only glare and take hold of her son's hand, refusing to let go.
"He needs his mummy," Lyra would say. "And I stay when I am needed."
Though humiliated at the fact that she said 'mummy', Will was glad that she was there. His mother had always been something like a super hero to him, and the fact that she wouldn't leave his side for even a minute was a comfort.
There was another pateint in the Hospital Wing, but that one insisted that there was nothin wrong with him, that everyone should just ignore him and work on his son at all times. That was Nick Blue.
Though his memory was still remarkably foggy, he knew enough to remember his beautiful wife and daughter, and his son.
"I remember what I need to," Nick said. "I remember I have a family, and I remember that they visited me all the time in Saint Mongos, I remember that they need me more then any of them care to admit."
Lyra felt like a little girl again when Nick said that, and her damaged heart skipped a beat when Nick grinned at her. When Will was alseep, Lyra would tell Nick everything about their family and how they had a perfect little life in a house identical to her brother's.
"Sirius Black," Nick murmered, and Lyra flinched at the name, but kept an encouraging smile on her face. "Yes, I remember him now, he was your brother."
Lyra's smile wavered at the 'was' in the sentance but she nodded, looking away so she could swipe at the tears that dared to leak down her cheeks.
Nick grabbed her wrist and chin and turned her face to see his. He smiled sadly when she began to sob.
"I'm sorry," he said. "but you can't hold in all your tears, Lyra. You have to let it out sometimes."
They spent the rest of the night wrapped in eachothers arms.
