Lynx had put her hair up in a sloppy bun and she had put on her favorite ankle boots. She was racing up and down the cobbled road of Diagon Alley with her brother Will trailing behind her, she was always a hyper little thing. But no matter how fast she could run (Which was faster then anyone in her year), she couldn't beat her older brother because not only was he older, but he had extremely long legs.
"Where's the Weasleys?" Lyra said, running a hand through her long black hair. She used to hate it when her hair passed her shoulders, but ever since that fateful day her brother was sent to Azkaban she found it was too much work to cut it so now it was elbow length.
"They said they'll be at the Leaky Couldren," Will said.
"They why aren't we going that way?" Lyra said in exasperation.
"Because Lynx is being annoying and leading us in the wrong direction," Will huffed, watching his sister's hair whip back and forth as she ran from shop to shop.
"Lynx!" Lyra said and he rdaughter ran to her emmidiatly. "We're going to the Leaky Couldren, come on."
Lynx sighed heavily and trudged over to where her mother and brother were heading. They thought she was being annoying bu truth be told she was actually looking for someone - someone really special.
Lynx scowled as the picture of Cormac McLaggen flashed inher mind. He was an arrogant toe-rag with a pretty face, so why when she thought of him she felt all squirmy on the inside? Lynx was used to boys' heads turning when she walked by, but when his head turned it meant something - something that Lynx didn't quite get.
This was the only secret she ever kept from her mother - because her mother would probably say that Lynx liked Cormac, but Lynx didn't. She couldn't. . .
"Thinking of someone. . . someone special?" Will whispered in Lynx's ear. He was the only one who knew, and that was just because Lynx was so confused about how she felt that she had to tell someone, and Will wasn't one to tease. . . untill now.
"Will you let that go?" Lynx snapped under her breathe, not waning her mother to hear. "I told you that last year for goodness sakes."
"Yes, when you were just an innocant little first year," WIll smirked. When he smirked you could see that he didn't only have his father's decent looks, but his mother's stunning features as well. He had the stubborn set of the jaw, the high cheekbones, and something about the way he looked when he smirked that made him look so much like Lyra that it always shocked someone who knew her into silence.
"I'm over that now," Lynx lied. "And I didn't like him. It was probably my jerk radar acting up, like it is now."
Will rolled his eyes. "That had to be the weakest joke I ever heard come out of your mouth. What are you thinking of?"
"I was thinking of Sirius Black," Lynx lied easily. "It's just strange that he broke out of Azkaban. I thought that wasn't possible."
"It's not," Will said. "But us Blacks managed to do the impossible."
"We're not Blacks, Will, we're Blues," Lynx said, and couldn't help but feel that that sentance sounded like complete rubbish.
"But we have the Black blood in us," Will said.
"Oh, great, now you sound like Malfoy," Lynx said, wrinkling her nose.
"I'm not prejudice!" Will said defiantly.
"Then don't ever say that sentance out loud ever again," Lynx said.
Will was about to say something but then they walked into the Leaky Couldren and Lyra was now within earshot.
