Watching

It was Lyra's turn to watch over Harry and it had to be the most bloody boring assignment she had ever been assigned to.

In the last war she was a very trusted figure and Dumbledore sent her to do the most important missions because she would be able to walk through the street without being hexed by Death Eaters who looked at her as a respectable Black, or the Ministry who saw her as another kid trying to survive through a terrifying war.

But now Ishe was Sirius Black's tiwn.

She wasn't Lyra Blue anymore. When people saw her in Diagon Alley they would shove their kids behind them and whisper to eachother.

"That's Sirius Black's Twin. She's the one who set him free - stay away from her, kids."

"That's the Black girl, she looks like a vampire, doesn't she?"

"Sirius Black's twin, I hear she is planning on setting the others free."

Of course, Lyra would pretend she didn't notice, but it wasn't right with her. She was used to being well-known. EVer since she was born she was the center of attention. But being looked at with such disgust terrified her.

When she was in Hogwarts, the Slytherins would look at her with a mixture of hatred and admiration. When she left Hogwarts she was looked at with respect, because very few young adults could survive that long in the middle of the war, hardly scarred. When Sirius was arrested she was looked at with fear and admiration again; everyone had thought she was rather brave walking down the street with no tear marks after her brother was arrested and her husband tortured so badly that he lost his memories. Now all she saw was disgust in their eyes.

She guessed that that was the upside of watching over Harry. It required you to be invisible because everyone would know that Harry wouldn't like to be watched. Lyra could stand on the side walk and as people passed unknowingly by her, they didn't send her dirty looks.

But Lyra wasn't thinking about the posatives as she just stood there on the lawn looking at the boy sitting on the bench at the other side of the street.

How did he just sit there and not feel restless? Lyra wouldn't be able to sit there for that long, doing nothing. Lyra sighed loudly, only to cover her mouth when Harry's head snapped towards her.

She felt the familiar pang of her heart when she saw his eyes. Lily's eyes.

She still hadn't eccepted the fact that her best friend was gone, both of her best friends. She didn't know what she would do if SIrius disappeared. She supposed she would never resurface from the depression that she had just managed to escape when Lily ad James died.

Lyra signed as she looked at Jam - Harry. Lyra stood in shock for a moment. She had never mistaked Harry for James before. SHe had always knew the differance, had always knew that Harry might look like Jmes but would never actually be him; and that was why it shocked her that she thought of James.

I shook my head, promising myself to never make that mistake again. I loved Harry becaus ehe was Harry, not because he looked like James. They were two differant people, and I loved them in differant ways. Harry as a nephew, and James as a brother.

I sighed as I watched Harry get up from the bench and trudge down he street, looking older then any fifteen year old should look.
