Pride

"Stop stressing, Lyra," Remus said soothingly, watching his friend pace the living room, tucking hair behind her ear nervously. He watched as her silky hair slipped from behind her ear and fell in her face again, only to have her push it behind her ear once more. "They're smart kids."

"I know they are," Lyra said. "But I have to admit to myself that Lynx is a girl that likes adventure and Will is very ambitious. What if Lynx comes out like Fred and George and Will comes out like Percy?"

"Lynx might like to joke around but she has stars in her eyes, Lyra," Remus shook hi head in disbalief. "She would never settle for running a shop - even a joke shop. And Will always did like adventure just as much as the next guy, and he wouldn't dream of picking a boring job at the Ministry. You of all poeple should know this, Lyra; they're your kids."

Lyra had the decency to look guilty, but she couldn't hide the worry in her eyes.

There was only one person who could calm her at the moment, she that person happened to walk in at that moment.

"Career day for your kids," Professor McGonagall said briskly, her thin lips looked thicker and Lyra felt hope well in her chest. "You can calm down now, Mrs. Blue-"

"Honestly, Minerva, we've known eachother since I was ten, just call me by my name," Lyra said

"Mr. Blue and Ms. Blue did a very good job in thinking about their carreers, and you will be proud to know that with their grades it will be easy for them to achieve it," McGonagall went on as though she wasn't enterupted. "Mr. Blue picked a career as an Auror."

Lyra turned and beamed at Remus, who smiled back, looking equally as proud.

"And Ms. Blue picked a career as an Unspeakable," McGonagall went on. "A fighting Unspeakable, and I think she'll be able to accomplish it."

Lyra's mouth formed an 'o'. Her daughter? An Unspeakable? Lyra had considered becoming an Unspeakable in her days, but she had stars in her eyes and wanted to be famous so she picked to become an AUror. Unfortunatly, there was a war going on and no one would trust her because she was a daughter of the Black family and everyone thought she was trying to spy on the Ministry.

So then she settled with making pranking devices for Zonko's. Zonko's actually payed quite alot, but Lyra didn't become what she wanted to become the most - famous, a hero.

But her daughter would be able to do that.

She knew that Lynx could accomplish anything if she was determined enough, and just telling McGonagall that she was going to become an Unspeakable meant that she was going to prove that she would.

"I have to return to the school," Mcgonagall said, breaking through Lyra's trance-like silence.

Lyra nodded mutely, still thinking about her children's choices.

McGonagall left.

"Are you proud?" Remus asked with a smile.

Lyra turned to Remus with bright grey eyes and a shining smile. "Very proud, Remus, I'm so very, very proud."
