Lyra got ready with her team mate Angelica Moores, the Keeper in the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
"Nervous?" Angelica asked, her brown eyes wide. "I am. I've never been in the center of attention before and I'm worried I might just make a fool of myself. The Quidditch Practice was differant because it was only a couple of kids but now it's the entire schol-"
"Angelica!" Lyra snapped, annoyed. "You did good in the practice now just imagine that the rowd isn't there."
"That'll be pretty hard-"
"I don't care just stop talking," Lyra snapped, throwing her broom over her shoulder and marching out of the girls' changing room. She met the boys outside of the boys' changing room and she sent James an annoyed look. "Angelica is bloody annoying. She just kept telling me how nervous she was."
"You told her she shouldn't be and she'll do well, right?" James asked, looking at her desperatly.
Lyra scoffed. "No. I told her to suck it up and stop talking."
"You have to encourage her!" James said angrily as the rest of the team laughed. Cormac laughed reluctantly, though; things were still awkward between him and Lyra - they were too embarrassed to look at eachother now. "Where is she?"
"She should be done by now," Lyra shrugged.
On cue, a shaking Angelica stood out hesitantly and she looked slightly green. Lily was with her, though Lyra had no idea where she came from. Lily seemed both annoyed but trying to comfort Angelica.
"Angelica," James said, so serious that he didn't bother to acknolodge Lily's presence. "Come here."
Angelica walked over to him hesitantly and he draped his arm around her shoulders in a friendly and comforting way. They both walked a little away from the team so that all they heard was James whispering comfortingly and Angelica sometimes laughing quietly.
Lily looked on in shock and some jealousy.
"He's comforting her?" Lily asked uncertainly, as though she culdn't believe her eyes. "I thought he would have laughed at her for being nervous. . ."
"Why would he do that?" Lyra asked confusedly. James took Quidditch very seriously, and laughing at his team mate was a way to make sure that you lost the match - because it would make the player nervous. "His team is his family."
Lily's eyes softened as she gazed at James, who didn't notice. The team looked away awkwardly, feeling as though this should be private.
"Er - Lily," Lyra hissed in her ear. "You're staring at James. . ."
Lily blinked and blushed. She was suddenly interested of the window. James and Angelica came back, Angelica looking slightly better and James looking determined.
"Alright team and. . . Lily? What are you doing here?" James asked incrudulously, surprised that he hadn't noticed her before.
Lily jumped violently when he called her by her first name. Lily gazed at James like she hadn't seen anyone like him before. James, realising what he had called her, looked down at his feet.
"Sorry," James muttered. "What are you doing here?"
"Just giving Lyra a good luck on her first game," Lily mumbled. She glanced at Lyra. "good luck."
"Thanks," Lyra said while grinning. She shook her dark hair out of her face.
"Well - er - bye," Lily said awkwardly, and she hurried out of the room.
James gazed out at her longily and watched her small figure leave out of the window. James then straightened up.
"What is it, Prongs?" Lyra asked, looking out of the window too. she gasped. "Blimey! Dumbledore's out there!"
