Peter was sitting in his living room in his small house all by himself. He hadn't heard from his friends in a long time, and he wondered if they had abandoned him. He held a picture in his twitchy fingers that he kept in his pocket every day and took out to gaze longily at it.

It was the picture of him and his friends on the last day they were at Hogwarts, but he had cut the picture so that there were two pieces. One piece had Sirius, James, Lily and Remus with their arms around each of their shoulders; they were laughing happily together and looking at the camera Marlene McKinnon had been holding.

On the other piece was the one Peter had kept and treasured. It was a picture of Lyra with her arm around his shoulder and they were both standing closely together, both with smiles on their faces.

He had long since figured out that his love for Lyra was unrequited, but every time he tried to make himself not love her; he would fail. His love for her could not be broken.

Peter hated Nick, and had wished for his death many times, but every time a Death Eater was near enough to kill Nikc; James or Sirius would jump up and rescue him. Peter was really getting annoyed with James and Sirius for doing that, not that he would tell them that - they might curse him.

Peter sighed sadly, looking at Lyra's beautiful face and wondering why she didn't love him the way he loved her.

A bright light shone in front of him and he looked up to see a cat that resembled Lyra's animagus form. The cat looked at him and opened her mouth. Peter heard Lyra's voice come out of it; "Meet me and the others at Helga Lane emmidiatly. See you there, Wormtail!"

Peter was excited that his friend had contacted him at last and rushed over tothe kitchen where he had left his wand. He searched everywhere for it until he looked in the fridge and found it laying next to the jar of pickles.

Peter went to the spot in his house he could apparate in and turned on the spot. He felt himself go through the suffucatingly small tube and was relieved when he could breath again.

He looked around himself.

Helga Lane used to be a nice place with pleasant people, who would wave at you and offer you money to take the Knight Bus; but the Death Eaters destroyed that.

The grass wasn;t green anymore, but a light brown; the sky wasn't blue anymore, but coated with thick grey fog; the houses werent perfectly painted anymore but covered with moss. There were no cheery people walking by or talking pleasantly with their neighbors as they helped their gardens grow. Now the windows were boared up and the doors locked.

Peter shivered, not liking the eery silence around him. He searched everywhere for his friends, but he coudn't find him. He felt anger boil up in him, was this a prank? Were they going to jump out and scare him just for a good laugh?

"Wormy!" Peter heard Lily hiss from behind him.

Peter turned around eagerly to see the pretty redhead waving him over. She was hiding behind a large bush and she was wearing a black cloak that didn't look good with her red hair.

Peter waddled towards her and smiled as he seen his other friends beaming at him.

"Wormtail!" Lyra reached forward and hugged him tightly. She looked so much more mature than the last time he had seen her, she looked less like the witty teenage girl and more like a woman. Peter flet something in his stomach flutter."I haven't seen you in so long. What have ou been up to?"

"He can't have done much," Sirius said. "Probably hiding in his house like everyone else."

"We should be hiding in our houses too," Remus said, also wearing a dark cloak. "We should leave fighting Death Eaters to Aurors."
