"See you later, Moony," Lyra said.

"You really shouldn't do this," Remus said quietly, standing in front of the portrait hole. He looked pale and sickly, his scars showing much more then they usually did. "You know I wouldn't think any differantly about you. We will still be friends. You don't have to put yourselves at risk because of my abnormality."

James, who was grinning and shaking his head at Remus before, suddenly looked stricken. The stern look he gave Remus would have made McGonagall proud.

"Your furry little problem doesn't make you abnormal, Remus," the only times James ever called Remus by his real name was when he was serious. "It's nothing that you can help."

"And besides, full moons are fun," Sirius added helpfully. "We wouldn't miss this for anything."

"Now go to Madame Promfrey before she starts to get suspicious," Lyra urged.

Remus searched his friend's faces and gave them a weak smile. He silently climbed out of the portrait hole, leaving Lyra, James, Sirius and Peter alone in the dark common room.

"Did Evans mention me at all?" James asked emmidiatly, crumpling his hair and glancing at the girls' dormitory steps as though he expected her to come down any minute.

Lyra was very sympathetic to james with his Lily problem because she herself had a major crush on a boy a year above her, so she looked at him with a sorry expression.

"Yes, she did actually," Lyra said. "Nothing good. . . but at least you know she thinks about you alot!"

Lyra thought that would help James out, because she wished that her crush would notice her - even if it was for something bad - but his face fell noticably and Lyra was left with a nawing guilt.

"She'll come around eventually, Prongs," Sirius said briskly. "They always do."

"Who's they?" Lyra smirked. "I don't remember you having a relationship that lasted longer than two hours."

"I've went on dates," Sirius shrugged, not fazed. "I don't know. . ."

"Your just too cynical," Lyra said, rolling her eyes. "You know, Padfoot, there is such thing as true love."

Sirius shrugged and shaked his hair out of his face, uninterested in the conversation. Peter had a dreamy expression on his features, as though thinking about his true love, which he didn't have.

"You think it's time?" James asked, glancing around the common room to see if anyone was looking. When he was satisfied that he was alone, he pulled out his silver Invisability Cloak and wrapped it around his shoulders. His body disapeared.

"It's getting harder to hide under this thing," Peter said, throwing the cloak over his shoulders as well.

"Yeah, you really have to lay off those pumpkin pasties," Lyra said, slipping under the cloak.

"You're one to talk, Claws," Sirius teased, slipping under aswell. "I see you slipping some extra Chocolate frogs at dinner into your pocket."

"You know?" Lyra's grey eyes were wide. She thought no one seen her eating those.

"Your not very sneaky with it," James said, bending low with the rest of his friends so their feet wouldn't show under the cloak. "We see your pockets bulging every night."

Lyra, wondering if her crush ever noticed her pockets bulging with chocolate, blushed and kept silent. Peter was very pleased that no one was talking about his fat, for once.

The four friends clambored through the portrait hole clumzily, trying to make sure none of their elbows or feet showed.

"Does it really matter if our feet show or not?" Sirius asked, slightly annoyed at having to crouch so low. "I mean, no ones here."
