I got a cast for my characters. I like them, but others might not agree. If you think someone is a better choice, just tell me and I'll change them if I agree.
Also, I KNOW it was evil to kill of Lyra. I mean, she's been through so much. But I've been with her since she was born, and I've always seen her with the Marauders. It was so weird for me to write her all grown up and without her brother, so I thought the ending was fitting.
And, I love tragedy books.
Hope you like the VERY LAST CHAPTER to the book, Sirius Black's Twin. This is it, no sequels, no prequels, and no short stories. Unless, of course, you guys would like to do one. Either way, enjoy!
*~*~*~*~*~*
Sometimes, Will Blue could see the day it happened like he was still there, still watching. All he had to do was close his eyes, and the images would flicker by, vivid and so, so real.
He could see his mother's fierce, passionate face, her dark red lips stretched back in a snarl, her beautiful silver eyes narrowed to dangerous slits. He could see the effortless movements of her wand, the graceful steps of her feet; she looked like she was dancing, not dueling. He remembered thinking how brilliant she was, and how she was finally going to avenge her brother, his uncle.
But then things went so wrong. So very, very wrong.
Will buried his face in his hands, trying to get rid of the memories, but they kept coming in horrid flashes. He saw the jet of emerald light hit her chest, right over her heart, and that dreadful look of surprise, like she couldn't believe she had lost to Bellatrix. Time had slowed; Lyra stood beautiful in the middle of the Great Hall, her black tangled locks flowing behind her, her skin paling to match her glorious white dress.
Then she fell, and pandemonium broke out everywhere.
Bellatrix and Voldemort were the last killed wizards in that battle, but they were discarded. Will remembered Lynx clutching her stomach like she was going to puke, her brown eyes wide and wet, glued to the figure that used to hold her mother. He saw her mouth wide open, like she was sobbing, but no sound would come out. She was choking with despair.
Nick had stumbled to the body of his wife, looking lost, just like he had when he was at the hospital, with all of his memories too deep in his mind for him to reach.
At the funeral, Will had sat by his silent sister and his weeping girlfriend. He remembered holding their hands throughout the entire day, because he was too frightened to lose them. He had looked back at his father, and thinking, it should be you in that coffin. Not her, not my mother.
Nick had looked up at his son, and in his eyes, Will could tell that he agreed.
Their relationship had been broken after that. Will didn't want to see his father, who had been absent his entire life, but still got to live. Nick was too frightened to see the detest in his son's eyes. Lynx was their middle ground, whenever she was there, they could speak without shouting.
Will could feel the tattered hole in his heart start to throb. He squeezed his eyes even tighter so that the tears wouldn't spill out. It had been years since that day, years, and most days he could think back on his mother and smile, but not today.
He felt a warm hand on his shoulder. His heart leaped in his throat, and he lifted his eyes hopefully. It wasn't Lyra, it was Gazelle, his daughter.
Gazelle smiled happily at her father, her red-lipped smile splitting her face in half. She was gorgeous, with both of her parents' best features. She had uncontrollable curly black hair that reached the middle of her back, wide silver eyes that sparkled with joy, and healthily tan skin that glowed in the sunlight. She grabbed her father's hands and tugged them.
