"Evans!" Lyra shouted, rushing towards the pretty red haired girl who was sitting in the back of the Gryffindor common room doing her homework assigned to her from Professor Flitwick. "Hey, Evans!"

Evans sent a annoyed glance at the girl rushing towards her, wondering what she wanted now. Lyra sat across from Evans and Evans eyes widened when she seen her.

Evans inspected Lyra, who looked very timid, playing with the hem of her sleeve nervously as though she wasn't sure how to start the conversation. Evans seen her eyes shine a bit and her skin almost glowing; she also saw a small smile on her lips, which she had never seen ever before - at least not with at least a sprinkle of mischeif in them.

"What do you want, Black?" Evans asked, though her voice wasn't as sharp as it would have usually been. The thing was, Lyra reminded her of one of her friends at that moment, she just couldn't put her finger on which one. . .

"I really don't know how to say it without sounding as though I'm using you. . ."Lyra bit her lip and inspected Evans who was staring at her with wide green eyes.

"I'm not doing your Charms homework," Evans said, annoyed.

"I've already done it," Lyra waved her hand lazily and leaned back in her chair as though she hadn't a care in the world.

"Then what do you want?" This time Evans'  voice was sharp. It always annoyed her when the Marauders had such good grades though they caused more trouble then everyone in the school put together and they never studied. "I have to finish this before tomorrow."

Lyra blushed a bit which almost made Evans topple out of her chair. Never, never had she seen Lyra blush.

"WhatdoyouwearonadateinHogsmeade?" Lyra said very quickly, as though it would save her embarrassment if she said it fast.

Evans, who understood completely, wanted to pretend she didn't; she enjoyed watching Lyra blush - it almost made her feel as though Lyra were one of her friends. "What did you say?"

Lyra blushed even more and glanced around her, as though she were going to tell the biggest secret ever. "What should I wear on a date to Hogsmeade?"

"Why are you asking me?" EVans asked, raising one eyebrow.

Lyra didn't look at all ashamed of what she said next. "I realised I had no girl friends - friends that are girls-"

"I know what you meant," Evans said.

"Good, because James and Sirius looked at me like I was crazy," Lyra said impateinly. "Anyway, I have no girl friends so that means I have no idea who to ask."

"Why did you ask me?" Evans raised one thin eyebrow.

"You've been on plenty of dates," Lyra said. "And all the other girls look up to you so if you become friends with me. . ."

"Then they would be your friend too," Evans ended Lyra's thoughts. "Fine, I'll help you."

"Really?" Lyra looked strangely relieved, and that was when Evans saw who Lyra reminded her of. She reminded her of Alice, who had that same look on her face when Frank Longbottom had asked her on a date to Hogsmeade.

Lyra smiled widely at Evans, and Evans couldn't help but smile back.
