"Wake up, Lyra! Wake up!" Lily said, shaking the limp figure on the ground.

Lyra goraned and threw her hands up to show that she had awaken.

"Good," Lily said, satisfied. "I was going to let you sleep in but then I read the notice board."

Lyra was barely listening, as she was struggling to keep her eyes open.

"And our Apparation Training starts today after breakfast, and you cannot be late," Lily went on.

Lyra, after hearing that sentance sat up so quickly that Lily looked startled. "We're going to apparate? Today?"

"Yes," Lily looked apprehensive. "But hardly anyone gets it on their first day, it'll take a while. And we only get to get our license when we turn seventeen."

"That's alright," Lyra shrugged, hopping off her bed and changing into her robes. "Sirius and I will turn sseventeen in a few months. Soo we'll be able to appear and disapear wherever we wish. . . probably even scare a few first years."

"You can't apparate in Hogwarts!" Lily said defiantly. "How many times do I have to tell you that? And besides, as prefect I won't let you scare the first years, they're already scared enough by you as it is."

"But I didn't do anything to them," Lyra said, putting on her shoes. "Well. . . at least not these first years."

"They hear stories about you and your brother and Potter," Lily said disaprovingly. "And I did too. Is it true you inflated someone's head so big that they had to drag themselves down to the Hospital Wing?"

"We offered to fix it for him," Lyra said defiantly. "But for some reason he didn't trust us! And besides, if he wasn't so keen on telling McGonagall that we were the ones who taught Peeves those new swear words then we wouldn't have done it in the first place."

"So you inflate his head?" Lily asked, exasperated.

"We meant to inflate his nose," Lyra grinned. "You know, because he was NOSY, but we were a little.. . over enthusiastic."

Lily looked disaproving and amused at the same time.

"That was years ago, though," Lyra said, following Lily out the dormitory door. "We stopped that a long time ago. . . which I'm sure you noticed."

"i did," Lily said simply.

"So why don't you go out with Prongs?" Lyra inquired.

"Becuase he's still a toerag," lily said, though not with the same venom that she used to say it with. "He ruined my friendship with Sev."

"No he didn't," Lyra shook her head. "He just instigated it. You and Snivellus were the ones who decided you were both best left alone - or at least you did."

Lily looked down at her feet as they both walked through the almost empty common room.

"Really, Lily," Lyra said seriosuly. "Why don't you give Prongs a chance? He's changed."

Lily bit her lip softly. "How do I know he won't change again? Back to his old self? It's only been a few months."

"Have you read the Daily Prophet?" Lyra asked.

"Yes."

"Have you seen all those deaths?"

"Of course."

"That's why he won't go back to his old self again."

"What?"

Lyra sighed heavily as they both walked into the Great Hall. "Prongs won't go back to his childish self again because things aren't fun and games anymore. He knows that there are much more troubling manners and he wants to stop them. That little fantasy world he used to live in is gone and he's seen reality, now he knows what he did is wrong."
