7: The One Where Cheryl Forgets

CHERYL POV:

"Cheryl, please wake up." I hear a voice cry, i open my eyes and see i'm in  a hospital bed. "Cheryl. I've missed you so much." i look at the pink haired girl. "Who are you?" she looks down. "I'm your wife. You don't remember? We've been together for 10 years we have a son." i shake my head. "Your from the drag race." she shake her head. "What year is it?" she ask me. "2018." she looks away. "No its not, 2028." i look down. "What happened?" she takes my hand. I quickly pull away. "You were in a car accident." she stands up. "I have to go." she starts to walk out. "Wait." she turns around. "I never got your name." she looks down. "Toni." the last thing I remember is southside high getting shut down. They were supposed to be coming the next day.

TONI POV:

I walk out to the waiting room veronica stands up. "She doesn't remember me." she pulls me into a hug. I start crying. "Like she does just from the drag race." I pull away. "Miss Topaz. Can we talk about your wife?" i nod at the doctor.

"You said we have a son, what's his name?" cheryl ask and it breaks my heart. I sit on the edge of her bed. "Jason, he's 5 and looks just like you." i tell her. "I'm sorry I don't remember anything." she looks down. "Cher, this is not your fault." She looks up at the nickname. "Cher? Like the singer?" i shake my head. "No." i take her hand. "I'm guessing nana Rose is dead." i nod. "Yeah. you were heading to her funeral." that's also how long she has been in a coma. "How long ago was that?" she ask. "3 years ago." she sits back processing what I just told her. "Does Jason remember me?" i shake my head. "Not really he knows who you are but, he has no memory of you. I tell him stories and show him pictures but, he doesn't remember you that much about you" i pause coming up with more words. "He knows you are in the hospital, I told him what happened. He really wants to see you just doesn't know what to do or say."

"Mommy, I can't sleep." i pick Jason up and lie in bed with him. "What's wrong?" i ask. "You said that mom woke up." i nod. "Is she ok?" he sits up. "No, not really. She doesn't remember me, she doesn't remember you. Well she remembers me but only one time we met." he looks away. "Hey," i cup his cheek so he looks at me. "Everything will be ok. And I know everything kinda sucks right now and nothing will be the same but, it will get better. I promise." i kiss the top of his head. "I love you, so much."

"And I told you that your-." she interrupts me. "Sensational." i look up. "You remember." she shrugs. "Kinda. It was after Love, Simon, you saw me cry for the first time." I smile and nod. "Definitely wasn't the last time." I joke. "Did I ever get rid of my mother?" i nod. "You kicked her out threatening to burn down thistle house." she smiles, there is a knock on the door. "Hey I brought Jason." Jason runs over to me as veronica walks in. "hey buddy." i pick him up. "Hi." Jason says awkwardly to cheryl. "What's up?" Cheryl ask. Jason looks at me confused. "I told her some stuff about you. Tell her about your day." I try to get them to start a conversation.
