182: The One Where Toni's Dad Dies

TONI POV:

I walk into the library. "Toni!" I look over and see Betty. I smile a little. "What do you want Coop?" I ask finding the book I need. "Where were you last week?" She ask quietly. "I had some stuff come up. Why?" I ask. "Because! Cheryl has been looking for you and Juggy had to go to the football game and take pictures." I take a deep breath. "Well, I'm sorry! I had some family stuff come up! It's not my fucking fault." I tell her. "Everything ok?" She ask concerned. "My father died. I don't want to talk about it and you're not gonna tell Cheryl because I have been avoiding her because she's gonna make everything worse!" I say quietly. "That's not true." I look at her. "She did a whole fucking parade for Fred! I don't want her to do anything like that! She is over the top for everything!" I say louder than I should have. "Shh!" The librarian shushes us. "Sorry." We both say. "You don't know that she's gonna do something like that." I sigh. "We broke up for 5 minutes and she lost her fucking mind and took over the school, again!" I tell her. "I can't deal with her shit right now." I whisper before walking away. She follows me and I groan. "You smell like alcohol." She whispers. "I'm fine." I say quietly. "I just came here for some books and I'm going."

"Are you mad at me?" Cheryl ask as I open the door to my trailer. "What? No!" I say quietly. I go to the couch. "So why have you been avoiding me and not going to school?" She ask pissed. "Because!" I say looking at her. She looks at me for a second. "I wasn't avoiding you! Just some stuff came up, and I didn't want you making it more of a deal that it needs to be!" I explain. She looks at me concerned. "Toni, what happened?" She ask quietly. "Nothing, I don't want to talk about it." I say quietly. I get up and grab a beer. "Can you just tell me? I won't do anything, I just want to know." She ask quietly. "Some stuff with my dad happened!" I whisper before grabbing the bottle opener. "Is he ok?" She ask quietly. "Now, yeah! Definitely." I say quietly. "Toni, talk to me." She whispers. I sigh and take a deep breath. "Last week he ahh... he had a heart attack and died going to the hospital." I say quietly. "Happy?" I ask before going into my room and slamming the door. She knocks. I ignore her and honestly just drink my way through the night.

CHERYL POV:

I open the door to Toni's room. "Toni, it's time for school." I whisper. "I'm not going!" She says  pissed. "Go!" She yells. I take a deep breath. "I'm not leaving you like this." She grabs a pillow and throws it at me. "Get out!" I nod and close the door. I don't actually leave I just go the couch and wait for her. Around 12 she walks out of her room. "I told you to go!" She whispers. "Yeah, but I love you and you need someone with you right now." I explain. "I made coffee." I whisper. She grabs a cup and pours some coffee with more than enough vodka in it. I look at her. "I'm fine." She whispers. "You're drunk." I say quietly. "I'm just trying to get through everything. Give me like a week, i'll- I'll be ok." She says quietly. "You shouldn't be doing this alone." I whisper. "Cheryl! Please! Let me! I was fine before you got here!" She yells. "Stop yelling." I say getting up. "Stop yelling? I can't when you're being a controlling bitch!" She says getting pissed. She looks down. "I-I'm sorry. I just need to be alone! I can't do this." She says quietly. "We'll figure something out." She shakes her head. "I mean us! It's to much right now! I can't have this responsibility." She whispers.

TONI POV:

Cheryl walks out and I immediately throw the mug at the wall. "Fuck!" I yell. I grab a beer and just drink until I almost pass out. I go to Sweet Pea's trailer. "Hey! Toni." He says smiling. "I can't, I can't do this anymore. It's too hard." I whisper. He brings me inside and honestly I don't know what happened after. I wake up on the floor of the bathroom of Sweet Pea's trailer covered in my own vomit and sweat. I sit up. "Get in the shower." He says looking at me. "What happened?" I ask quietly. "You got drunk and slept for a day and a half." I look at him. "It's Friday." He says. I nod. "Did you leave me on the floor like this?" He mods. "Yeah, I gave you a pillow." He says before walking out. "Get in the shower!" He yells. I get up. "Have you heard from Cheryl?" I ask. "No." I sigh and go into the shower.

I walk into the library. "I'm here to return these." I say putting the books on the counter. The librarian nods and takes them. I walk away. "Toni!" I groan a little and see Betty. "Please leave me alone!" I say quietly. "Where you missed like 3 days of school." She whispers. "Why do you care?" I ask quietly. "Because Cheryl is worried about you! She said you got aggressive." I sigh. "Tell her to stop fucking worrying so god damn much I don't care." I whisper. "Why are you so angry?" She ask concerned. "Because my life is ruined! The only thing that was getting me out of this stupid town was my father and now he's gone." I tell her. "What do you mean?" She ask quietly. "I was supposed to get out of here, get a good job and get him out of here." I whisper. "I'm now stuck! I have no fucking future!" I yell. "Go away! I don't need anyone!" I say before leaving. I see Cheryl talking to Veronica in the student lounge. She sees me and I swear to god her eyes turn red. My eyes widen and I run away.
