28: The One With The Cheating

CHERYL POV:

"Toni." I knocks her her door. She opens the door and looks high. She walks out and closes the door behind her quickly. "Hey Cheryl." She says shocked that I'm at her trailer. "What are you doing here?" She ask. "Are you high?" I ask. She starts giggling. "That's a stupid question." She says. "Toni." She looks away. "You didn't answer my question." She looks back at me. "Just because we broke up does not mean I don't care about." I say. "Why? I was the one who cheated." She says sits down on the stairs . "You should hate me." She grabs another joint from her pocket. "I don't hate you ." I say quietly. "Why? Again I cheated on you." She stands up. "You should go, my uncle is going to be home and I have to get the smell of pot out of the trailer." She opens the door and a cloud of smoke comes out. "Here." I have her back her hoodie she left at my house once. "It's yours."

TONI POV:

"Toni are you ok?" I walk to my locker that Sweet Pea is standing at. "No, not really." I put in my combination and it won't open so I try again. "You need to get over her." I punch my locker. "Can you fucking open?!" I punch my locker a million times and start crying. "Toni." I push Sweet Pea away and go to the library. I sit down in a corner and cry. I should have never done that with Veronica of all people. "Toni..." I look up and see Cheryl. "I'm sorry I did what I did to you." I say quietly. She sits in front of me. "Why did you do it?" Cheryl ask quietly. "I was scared that you were going to leave me, so I made it easier for you." I confess. "Toni, I still love you. And I was never going to break up with you. You shouldn't have done that." She says quietly. "I know. If you never forgive me it's ok." I say. "I'm still processing. You broke my heart, badly, I'm not over that." She whisper. "I don't expect you to be over it." I stand up. "I'll see you a the game." I walk away and go to practice.

"Toni." I get stopped. "What do you want?" I ask Cheryl. She pulls me into a kiss. "I have to go." I run out to the field and throw on my helmet. We line up and next thing I know everything goes black and I'm now in the hospital. I look over and see Cheryl. "Cher." She looks up. "What happened?" I ask quietly. "You got tackled badly and got knocked out." I take a deep breath. "Please say my uncle wasn't called." She nods. "They called Sweet Pea." She sits on the bed. I let go of the breath I was holding. I take her hand. "Cheryl... I'm sorry." She pulls me into a kiss. "Don't be, I heard Veronica's side of the story." She kiss me again. "I'm sorry." I say quietly to Cheryl. "Really I am." She pulls away. "I know."
