CHERYL POV:
"Cheryl trust me she like you!" Betty says from behind me. "Than why hasn't she said anything?" I turn around. "Because she's to popular to deal with her feelings, you both are." I finish my make up. "She like you, you like her! Talk to her, tell Heather how you feel. The worst she could do is kill you." I get up go through all my shirts and pick one. "I'll call you when I'm done."
"How was your summer?" I ask quietly rubbing my neck awkwardly.
TONI POV:
I'm not moving again. I fucking hate this. I slam onto my new bed dredging every moment of this. My sister walks into my room. "Hey." I whisper. "At least we're back with the serpents." She throws me my jacket. "Thanks Kate." I say quietly. "There's 20 bucks in there, go to Pops." I get up and start to walk out. "Hey, it's going to be ok." Kate lies her hand on my shoulder. "I miss mom." I whisper. "I know, I do to. We need to be strong for Thomas." She whispers. "Go to Pops, he'll probably remember you." She pokes me. I laugh quietly and pull her into a hug. "I love you." She whispers. "I know." I pulls away and leave.
CHERYL POV:
"So I was thinking... maybe we should-." The bells rings and I look up. A tan girl with long faded pink hair walks in. She's got to be our age, she's very small for our age. She walks over. "Hi I was wondering what to get. I haven't been here in a while and you guys are the only people in this place." She says awkwardly. Screw Heather! She's hot. "I'm Toni by the way." She reaches her hand out. "I'm Cheryl." I shake it. "You're giving me the tour tomorrow." I nod. "Yeah."
"You said you haven't been at Pops in a while. I'm guessing you have lived here?" I ask, probably intruding on her personal life but whatever. "Yeah, my mom died. A few months ago." I look down. "Oh, I'm sorry I shouldn't have said anything." She shakes her head. "It's fine. She wanted to go home to Ohio before she died. So we lived there for a while and she died so we moved back." She says quietly. "I'm sorry you have to go through that." She shrugs. "I would say I'm over it, but I'm not. I would say I'm fine but, I'm really not." She plays with her hands. I shouldn't have said anything. I stop her. "I come off as a really bitchy person, but, you need a friend. So if you need someone to talk to about anything, I'm here for you. I'll listen to you." I hand her my phone. "You don't have to do this." She hands me my phone back. "I get what you're going through. Maybe not exactly, but my brother died last year from suicide and I still haven't forgiven myself for it. I get what it's like to lose someone important. So I will listen to you. Because I never got any support I don't want that to happen again to anyone. Give me your number, text me say it's you and I'll listen." I pour my heart out trying not to cry. "Ok." She takes my phone and puts her number in. "You can always talk to me to. You seam cool." She says quietly. "I'll probably call you tonight honestly. I'll see you around." She walks away. "Cheryl!" I turn around and see Heather. "Hey, yesterday after Pops?" I Shrug. "I don't really want to talk about it." I walk away. "I'm sorry." I turn around. "You met that girl over the summer!" I yell. "I'm sorry." She whispers tears in her eyes. "I thought I had feelings for you. I guess I was wrong. I'll see you later." I walk to class.
TONI POV:
"Hey buddy." I pick Thomas. "How was school?" I ask quietly. He shrugs. "Fine." He says quietly. "What's wrong?" We walk away from the elementary school. "Everyone was talking about their moms and dads." I lies his head on my shoulders as we walk home. "It's hard. But, mommy wouldn't want you to be sad over it. Hey, you still have me and Kate." I say quietly. "What happened to mom?" Thomas ask. "She got sick, Bud I really don't want to talk about this right now." I put him down, take his bag and hand. "Ok." He lies his head into my thigh. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to call Cheryl. She was pretty cute. "What are you thinking about?" Thomas ask perking up. "A girl." He shrugs. "Oh that girl you and Kate were talking about?" He jumps up. I laugh. "Yes. Why were you up that late?" I ask as we finally get to the trailer. "Because, you came home." I grab the keys and open the door. Thomas runs in and gets a snack or whatever. I walk in and throw my bag on the counter and hang up Thomas' bag. Thomas tries to go to his room, but Kate stops him. "No, food in your room." She picks him up and puts him at the table. "You ok?" I nod. "Yeah, I just need to do something." I walk into my room. I look at my phone, take a deep breath and call Cheryl. "Hey. Who is this?" Cheryl ask. I lie down on my bed. "Toni." She laughs. "Oh right of course! Why did you call?" I sigh. "Because I need to vent and you said I could talk to you." I say honestly. There's something about her. I might know her from before we moved. "Ok. Vent, I have some venting to do to so. You know." I take a deep breath. We talk for hours about everything. It was nice for once to have someone that isn't my sister to talk to and understand what I'm going through. "What are you doing tomorrow?" I ask. "Cheer, homework. Why?" She ask. "Meet me at Pops after I get my brother home."
