8: The One Where Cheryl Opens Up

"Cheryl what happened at sweet water?" Toni ask Cheryl as she lies in bed. "Every time I ask you change the subject." Cheryl turns over so her back is to her girlfriend. "Cheryl, it's ok." Toni has been trying to get it out of her for a month now. Thanks to Nana Rose bringing it up when Toni showed her the promise ring for Cheryl and told her how amazing Toni was for her granddaughter, especially after what happened at the river. "I don't want to talk about it." she turns off the light, which Toni quickly turns back on. "We are not going to sleep until you tell me." Cheryl sits up giving up the fight, knowing that Toni will find out some day. Today might as well be the day. "I had just found out that my father killed JJ, he had killed himself. I lost hope, went down to sweet water sent one last call for help to veronica. I think you can figure out what happened next." Cheryl looks down giving a small sad smile. Toni take her hand feeling bad for making her tell her. "Cheryl i'm sorry." Cheryl shakes her head. "No, I should have told you sooner. Can we go to bed now? I've had a long day." Cheryl smiles. "Yes." they both laugh as Cheryl turns off the light. "I love you Cheryl." Toni lies down. "I love you Topaz you really bring out the good in me." Toni raps her arms around Cheryl as they fall asleep, not realizing that was the first time either of them said it.

Cheryl wakes up around 3, having another panic attack. It seems to be every night she's waking up from either a panic attack or a nightmare which leads into a panic attack. Not trying to wake up Toni she slowly gets out of bed and walks downstairs. "Cheryl." Cheryl turns around to see Toni standing at the entrance of the kitchen. She walks over to Cheryl. "I didn't want to wake you up." Toni cups her girlfriend's cheek. "I want to make sure your ok." Toni she wipes the tear Cheryl didn't realize she had. "I will always be there for you no matter what. Ok?" Cheryl nods her head. "I kinda want to be alone right now." Toni kisses her girlfriend and starts to walk out. "I'll be upstairs if you need to talk." she walks upstairs leaving Cheryl in the silence and darkness of the night. Alone to think about how she feels about Toni, and realizes that earlier she said 'i love you' for the first time. The first time ever to anyone, not even Jason, not Heather, no one. And it was true they love each other more than anything. Cheryl also thinks about what she was panicking about in the first place. Nick St Clair. She hadn't told Toni about it, all Toni knows is that every time she tries to have sex with Cheryl she shuts down and she doesn't question it. Cheryl walks up stairs to see Toni sitting there waiting for her. "You said that you loved me and I said it back." Cheryl steps closer. "i've never said it anyone ever." Toni laughs quietly. "same."

"so how was your first night staying at Cheryl's? As a couple of corse." Veronica ask jumping up and down. "good, but I have been staying there for a while now." Toni tries to get away but veronica follows. "did you talk to Cheryl about the river thing?" She ask. "yeah, you were there so why does it matter?" Toni ask walking into science. "because Cheryl never talks about." they both sit down. "she said she loved me." Veronica's eyes softened. "you said it back right?" Veronica panics. "yes I said it to her first." as she says that Cheryl walks in.
