23: The One With The Break Up

TONI POV:

I walk over to the risers after football to see Cheryl sitting there quietly. She notices something is wrong. "Toni, what's, what's wrong?" I sit down. "I think we should break up." I blurt out. She stands up. "Cheryl." She slaps me and leaves not even letting me explain "Cheryl... let me explain!" She turns around. "Why Than!?" I walk over to her. "Because, I can't do this! Not right now. It's not you, I need a break from everything. I'm sorry." I walk away, get on my bike and drive to the Wyrm. I walk in and sit at the bar. "Hey Fangs." He hands me my usual. "What's wrong?" He ask. "I broke up with Cheryl for no reason. I don't think she'll ever take me back." I take a sip. "Why if there was no reason?" I shake my head. "I- commitment. She's so amazing and I just took her heart and destroyed it." He wipes down the counter. I feel like shit.

CHERYL POV:

"Cheryl, what's wrong?" Veronica ask as I sit down at Pops. "Toni, broke up with me." She looks down. "She's been planning on doing that for awhile now." She says quietly. What? "You knew?" I ask about to cry. She nods softly. "What? Why did she do it?" She hands me my regular. "She, was afraid of commitment." I take a deep breath. "She said she needed a break, she didn't really tell me why."

"Cheryl." Toni starts walking over to me. I start to walk away. "Cheryl! Wait can we talk?" I turn around. "Why so you can tell me why you don't want to be with me?" We walk into a empty room. "No, Veronica said you needed to tell me something." I place my books on a desk. "Cheryl what is it?" I take a deep breath. "I'm pregnant, with your child because you thought we would be fine without a condom." She sits down. "When? how long? Cheryl your not doing this alone." She gets up. I walk closer to her. "I found out yesterday. I haven't gotten my period in two months and that was the last time we had sex." She looks down. "And you told Veronica before me?" She ask quietly. She starts to walk away. "She was there, I was taking to her about what was going on and she told me to take it." I tell her honestly. She shakes her head and walks out. I take a deep breath and wipe my tears. I walk out and walk to class. I start to feel funny, but I shake it off. "Hey V." She looks up and says something but I can't really here her. She looks concerned and everything goes black.

I open my eyes slowly and hold my head. My head is pounding. "Where am I?" I sit up but I feel hands push me back. "Toni? What are you doing here? What happened?" I ask. "You are in the nurses office, I saw you pass out and helped Veronica get you here." She sits down next to me on a chair. "Cheryl, I'm sorry." I look away. "You got me pregnant." I say biting my lip trying not to cry. "I know." She gets up. "Toni..." she turns around. "What are you doing tonight?" I ask quietly. She shrugs. "Going to Pops with you?" She ask, I nod. "Yeah, I think we should talk about what happened." She walks out.

I walk into Pops and see Toni sitting at booth in the back. I walk over to her. "Toni." I sit down on front of her. "I used a condom." Is the first thing that comes out of her mouth. "I know I was just ranting." I take a deep breath. "I think the condom broke it was really close to its expropriation date." She says. "I'm sorry Cheryl, I should have told you. I didn't think anything of it. I-." I take her hand and cut her off. "Toni calm down. You didn't think anything of it. But you didn't tell me the condom broke." I say. "I thought it was fine, I thought you were on the pill. I didn't think my sperm count would be high enough." She puts her head down. "Toni that's not how it works." I kiss her hands. "I know that's the problem." I rub her hand. "We are going to get through this. I'm not letting you go through this alone." She squeezes my hand. "You are the most amazing person I have ever met. Your sensational. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." I pull her into a kiss. This is the first time in weeks we have kissed. I look her in the eyes. I'm not mad at her, I've never been. "Cheryl..." I get up and grab my bag. "I have to go." I start to walk away but she grabs my arm and kisses me. I cup her cheek and kiss back. "Come over. I don't have work today and I know your mom's a bitch." I nod and kiss her again. Damn this girl has me rapped around her finger. "I'll meet you there. I have to grab something so I'll be there in a few.

TONI POV:

I run into my trailer, luckily Cheryl hasn't gotten here yet. I have a feeling nothing is going to happen but I grab a condom anyway. I can feel me already getting hard. God I hate having a dick. I rush into the bathroom and take all my meds because I'm stupid and forget. Cheryl should be here any minute. I try to pee but it's really hard and give up. No pun intended. The door bell rings, I run and get it. "Cheryl, hey. Come in." I say awkwardly. "You ok?" She ask as she walks in. "Yeah, just nervous. Yeah." She cups my cheek. "Really because what's that in your pants." I look down and see a wet spot. "I was peeing and you rang the doorbell." She kisses me. "Go take a shower." I nod and go to the shower. Cheryl opens the certain to shower. "Cheryl!" She gets in and kisses me slowly. I pick her up against the wall. She cups my cheek and kisses me deepening the kiss. "Condom." I grab my pants and the condom. I kiss her neck and slowly slide in her. She moans grabbing my back. "Toni." I thrust harder.

"Congratulations, It's a boy." The nurse says. I look at Cheryl she looks down. "You ok?" I ask. The nurse walks out gives us a minute. "I'm not ready to have a kid. I haven't even told my mom." I take her hand. "You can stay at my house. I know your afraid she will kick you out." She nods. "Are we dating again?" She ask quietly. "Do you want to?" She nods. "Ok." I take her hands. "Cheryl Blossom, will you be my girlfriend?" I kiss her hands. "Toni you just asked the dumbest question ever." I kiss her. "I love you." I say for the first time. I sit up. "I'm sorry. I'll get the doctor and leave you." I get up. "Toni." I look back at her. "I love you too." I smile and walk out. I take a deep breath. I tell the doctor that we are done and she goes back in. I sit down not being able to handle the rest. I sit back and play with the ring my mom gave me before she died. Cheryl walks out, I stand up nervously. She pulls me into a kiss. "Everything this going to be ok." She tells me.

9 Months later

"What do you want to name him?" Veronica ask walking over to us. "Jason." Cheryl says, I just nod. I take her hand. I sit on the bed. "I think that's amazing." Veronica says quietly. "I agree." I rub the top of his head. "Do you want to hold him?" Cheryl ask me. I nod and hold him. "How are you parents reacting to all this?" Veronica ask quietly. "My parents aren't around." I say looking down. Cheryl and I have never talked about it. I don't talk about my parents. "Cheryl?" Veronica ask. "My mom say anything because she skipped town to get away from Child Protective Services." Cheryl says just above a whisper. "And we all know my father is dead." Jason reaches for my hand. "He looks just like my brother." Cheryl says quietly. "I'll leave you guys." Veronica walks out. I look at Cheryl, she rubs the back of my neck. "Toni, what happened to your parents?" I look down and shake my head. "You don't have to talk about it if you're not comfortable." I take her hand. "My mom died of breast cancer when I was 10 and my dad is in jail for a murder he didn't commit. He witnessed it, he even called the police but they said he did it. I go see him all the time, I just didn't tell you because I hate the fact that I have to drive a hour for a ten minute conversation with my father of all people." I say pissed off at the whole situation. I never talk about it, I hate talking about it. "I'm sorry about your mom, and your dad..." she wipes my tears. "I don't want to talk about." I wipe my eyes after Cheryl. "Ok. But is one more question, is that why your hair is pink?" She ask rubbing my shoulders. I nod. "And it's my favorite color."

3 years later

"Cheryl Blossom, you are the love of my life." I pull out a ring and get on one knee. "Will you marry me?" I ask. She nods. "Of course." I kiss her and put the ring on her. "I love you so much." I kiss her again. "I love you, more than anything." She kisses me.

"Mommy!" Jason runs up to me, I pick him up. "How was pre-school?" I ask as Cheryl walks in, we finally got hold of thistle house so we live there. "It was good." He says excitedly. "Cheryl how was school?" After she had Jason and was able to go to school, she went and I stayed home to take care of Jason and did my classes online. "Good, Nothing really happened." She kisses me softly. "Ewww." Jason says laughing. "What's that ring for?" He ask Cheryl pointing at her engagement ring. We both look at each other. "Well mommy and I are getting married."
