"Mommy hurry! We'll be late!" Mallory said. Zoe smiled and finished putting her lipstick on.

"Here baby, go get Daddy, Mommy has to finish getting ready." Zoe said. Mallory smiled and ran downstairs.

"Daddy! Come on! The concert is soon!" Mallory said.

"I'm all ready sweetheart. Where's Mommy?" Evan asked.

"Mommy is still getting ready!" Mallory whined. Evan chuckled and smiled.

"Your mother does take a while to get ready, doesn't she?" Evan asked. Zoe sighed and walked toward Evan.

"I may take a while to get ready, but we've never been late. Have we?" Zoe asked. Evan looked at her and smiled.

"No, we haven't. Now come on Mal, lets get your shoes on!" Evan said. Mallory ran to the coat closet and pulled her silver sparkly flats on.

"I'm all ready!" She cheered.

"Ah ah Miss, where's your coat?" Zoe asked, pulling her coat and heels on.

"Mommy I don't want to!" Mallory whined.

"It's December and there's snow, honey, you have to wear a coat." Zoe said. Mallory groaned and pulled her coat on.

"Now that wasn't so hard, was it?" Zoe asked. Mallory sighed and Evan scooped her up.

"Okay you two, we have a Christmas concert to get to." Evan said. Zoe smiled and the trio walked to their car.

"Mr and Mrs Hansen! I'm so happy you could make it!"

Zoe turned around and saw Miss Cameron walking towards them.

"Hi Miss Cameron. We wouldn't have missed this for the world!" Zoe said.

"And Mrs Hansen don't you look... festive." Miss Cameron said. Zoe frowned and looked down. Miss Cameron smiled at the pair and walked off.

"Evan did you hear what she said?" Zoe asked. Evan sighed and tucked a piece of hair behind Zoe's ear.

"You look great, don't worry." Evan said. Zoe pulled her blazer tighter around herself and Evan grabbed both of her hands.

"Don't listen to her. You look perfect. Now come on, lets go hear Mallory sing." Evan said. Zoe smiled and took a seat with Evan.

The lights went out and when they came back on, all the kindergarteners were standing in lines onstage. Mallory saw her mother and father and waved. Zoe waved back and the music started playing.

"O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight

For Christ is born of Mary
And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together
Proclaim the holy birth
And praises sing to God the King
And Peace to men on earth

How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His heaven.
No ear may hear His coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him still,
The dear Christ enters in.

O holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born to us today
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel." The kids sang.

"Mallory! That was amazing!" Zoe said, picking Mallory up.

"Did you hear me singing?" Mallory asked.

"We did! You were amazing!" Zoe said, smiling. Evan kissed Mallory on the forehead.

"Amazing job sweetheart." He said. Mallory smiled.

"Can we get ice cream?" Mallory asked. Zoe laughed.

"Maybe another time sweetie. It's a school night." Zoe said. Mallory stuck her bottom lip out.

"But we can have some cookies when we get home." Zoe whispered. Mallory smiled.

"Yes!" She cheered. Evan and Zoe laughed and the trio walked out to their car.
