Let's Look At Kingdom Hearts Again

I've talked the life out of this series. Don't know what it is? Go watch one the hundreds explanation videos. Because of how big this series is and how insane it is, I won't be defining any terms I bring up. Just look it up.

Theme:

What is it about KH that I love? Well, after the God Eater review, I realize it's a really watered down version of God Eater, and I mean just the themes are similar. KH is about friends and being there for them. Each game has a different theme and it shows us that the world isn't a bright happy place, there's a hidden darkness that lurks inside all of us and letting that darkness take over changes the world itself.

Nothing ever lasts, not friends, not love, nothing is here to stay forever, so enjoy the moments you do have with the ones you love. While there isn't an immediate threat, like the aragami, there is a threat. The "darkness". While being a physical entity, it is also a metaphor. "Darkness" is an emotion, just the same as "light". As the quote says: just as there is night and day in this world, there is light and darkness in your heart.

KH doesn't seem much on the surface, but once you get into it, and have fun wasting a year of your life just trying to understand everything, you really understand it. Light and darkness live in a balance, just as all live in a balance, once that balance is broken, then so are the lives. It's a story about emotions more than it is about RUNNING AROUND DISNEY WORLDS FOR NO REASON, NOMURA WHY?

KH is more complicated than GE, meaning that all the side stories actually mean something, and you either have to play them all, watch play throughs, or do mass research on the wikia to understand it all. It shares the same message with so much more added on that it's insane.

Characters:

Admittedly, the characters are pretty bland, looking mostly at you Kairi. The Organization 13 members have more development. Actually, Axel, Saix, Roxas, Xion, Larxene and Marluxia. I don't really remember anyone else besides Zexion, Vexen, Luxord and Demyx, and onto because of KH3. Look at that, GE3 and KH3 came out the same year.

Character interaction wise, the best scenes are done by the Birth By Sleep and 385/2 Days groups. Honestly, the KH1 group is pretty, not that great. Riku and Sora lead the interactions while Kairi does little to nothing.

Soundtrack:

The soundtrack is pretty amazing, composing of mostly soft and quiet songs, it has its moments. The Hikari remix was pretty upbeat and so are the Don't Think Twice and Face My Fears fan remixes are addicting. I like Hikari and Oath over Simple and Clean and Don't Think Twice. Don't Think Twice actually is more true the original Japanese than Simple and Clean is. Which is why I made English versions to the original, but I'd do that anyways.

Character themes always hit me hard when they start to play it during a scene. Especially Ventus', I love Ventus.

Conclusion:

This is the second time I've reviewed this series? The Tales series is next, or maybe just one game since they're all so different. Kingdom Hearts is definitely more kid friendly, in the beginning. Yes everyone still comes back and the whole watered down fight scenes because Keyblade not chainsaw. Only fans who know the development  of the first game will understand. Organization 13's members have cooler weapons. Demyx being a literal guitar.
