One month later

The rest of Australia was amazing! It flew by so quickly, I wish I could go back. I wake up and roll over in bed, feeling like I'm going to be sick. I get up to the bathroom and lean over the bowl, a little sick coming from my mouth. Then some more. I throw up a few more times and flush, wiping my mouth and rinsing it, brushing my teeth. I remember one month ago when me and Joe were on holiday in Australia. Could I? I'd best be safe. I change quickly into a thick wooly jumper which is cream with black spots on it and a pair of black leggings. I pull on my black boots with a fur lining and leave a note for Joe. I stick it on his forehead so that he will definitely see it and then grab my keys, leaving the apartment. I pick up three pregnancy tests in Boots and pay for them quickly, hurrying home. I take the tests through to the bathroom and hear Joe shout a hello. I reply very quickly and lock the bathroom door.

Within ten minutes, the tests are ready. I check the first one.
Blue.
Positive.
The second one is also ready, so I check that one as well.
Blue.
Positive.
I check the third one. I need to be sure, even when I've already done two.
Blue.
Positive.

I feel my eyes widen and my breathing deepen and speed up before slowing down. How can this be happening? Well, I know how, but it seems so surreal. A mixture of happiness and nervousness overcomes me. I don't think I intended on it happening, it just did. I pace around the bathroom and hear a knock on the door. 'Stel, you alright?' Joe asks from the other side of the door.
'Yeah. Just give me a minute.' A minute? It's another ten before I leave the bathroom.

'Joe!' I shout loudly, unlocking the door and leaning in the doorway, feeling extremely excited but scared at the same time. By the time Joe is standing opposite me however, excitement has almost overcome me. I am nervous to tell Joe, but I wouldn't want this any other way. 'Are you alright, baby?' He asks me nervously. I take a deep breath, smiling so widely my cheeks hurt. 'I - I'm pregnant!' I squeal. Joe smiles and picks me up, kissing me passionately.
'Oh my God! That's the best thing EVER!' He practically shouts, spinning me around in circles. I feel tears of joy slipping down my cheeks at how happy he is.

The first thing I do is Skype Tan. Joe sits next to me, his eyes lit up and a huge grin on his face. Tan picks up after two rings and I practically scream at her. 'What? Estelle, what's going on?' I can't help but laugh at how lost she is. Joe is giggling too, probably because we're so excited. 'Tan, I'm pregnant!' I practically scream happily. Tan screams back and soon we're nothing but excited and screaming messes. 'Oh wow! Congratulations!' She smiles.
'Thank you! I'm so happy!'
'I can tell!' She exclaims. 'Jim!'
'Yeah?' I hear Jim's voice in the background.
'Estelle is pregnant!'
'Oh, congrats!'
'Thanks!' I say. 'I always said I would only have kids when I'm married . . . screw promises right now!' Tan laughs at how excited I am.

I talk with Tan about the whole thing for another half hour and then me and Joe decide to Skype Zo, then my brothers. Joe rings Zo on his laptop as I say goodbye to Tan. She picks up after three rings. She smiles widely at us when we connect. 'Hey, guys!' She waves. All of a sudden I don't want to tell her. I don't want to let her know, I wonder if Joe feels the same or if he doesn't mind. 'Hi, Zo!' Joe replies cheerily, glancing at me. I force a smile and wave at my best friend. We're silent for a while before Joe says, 'Are you going to -?'
'You can.' I reply, cutting him off.
'Okay. Zoë, erm . . . Estelle is pregnant!'

Zo screams, jumping up and down. 'Aaaaahhhhhh! I knew it! Alfie!' She shouts. I hear Alfie's voice in the background, 'Yeah?' He shouts, coming into view behind Zoë. She squeals as she looks up at him. 'Estelle's pregnant!' Alfie smiles at Zoë's words.
'Oh my God. Congrats guys!'
'Thanks.' Joe says cheerfully. Whilst he's talking to Alfie over Skype, I send Zoë a text.

Me: I'm really nervous :/ Xx
Zo: Why? This is great! Xx
Me: WTF is everyone gonna think? I'm twenty! Xx
Zo: Twenty one tomorrow. Xx
Me: Skype me later so we can talk about everything. Xx
Zo: Okay, hun. Xx

Joe and Alfie spend forever talking about the baby and then . . . football? Anyway, it's putting me off doing more important things. Ringing my brothers and parents. Ringing Zoë so I can talk to her and take the weight off my shoulders which is there at the moment. Joe finally finishes chatting away to Alfie and I ring Zo almost automatically, taking myself off to the bedroom with my laptop. I couldn't ring her earlier because it was Zoë's laptop that Alfie was using temporarily.

'Hey, hun. Why are you stressing?' Zoë gets right to the point. I sigh,
'I'm twenty and I'm pregnant?! Joe's only twenty three, we're really young, Zo. And I mean, it was an accident. And what if we're moving too fast? And -'
'Hey, hey. It'll be alright. Don't forget, twenty one tomorrow.' Zoë says reassuringly. I smile sadly. 'I don't want everyone thinking I'm a slut.' I frown.
'You're not a slut.' Zoë protests seriously.

'Zoë, what should I do?' I sigh, feeling like I'm going to cry very suddenly.
'I think that for starters, you're keeping it?'
'Yeah. One hundred percent certain.' I nod.
'Then be happy! You're pregnant and you're having a child with someone you love, right? Estelle this is the best news I've been given all week. Just think totally positive. And so what if people think you're young? You want to keep it, you do whatever you want. It's your child. You're not moving too fast.'
'How do you know?'

Zo seems to go quiet momentarily before she speaks. 'It'll sound so cringey, but when Joe and I got back from yours that first day we met, I asked him what he thought of you. And he said he thought you were lovely and very bubbly. He thought you were the prettiest person he'd ever seen and he wanted to be really close friends with you. I could tell straight away he liked you.'
'Really?' I say, hardly believing Zoë. She nods and smiles.
'And remember, don't care what anyone else thinks. The choices you are making are yours and Joe's, not anyone else's.'
'Okay. Thanks, Zo.' I smile happily.
'You're welcome anytime, love.'
'Hey, you're going to be Auntie Zoë soon!' I gasp happily. She giggles and nods.
'Yeah. I didn't think about that, actually.'

Joe walks into the bedroom and goes to leave when he notices me and Zoë are still on Skype. I stop him by patting the spot next to me on the bed. He puts an arm around my waist and squeezes it. I have to finish Skype with Zo as I remember I still need to tell my family. Joe also needs to tell the rest of his. He pulls out his phone and dials a number, moving towards the living room as he begins a conversation with who I think is his dad.

I find my phone and decide to ring my brothers first, reluctant to tell them but even more so to tell my parents. I ring Finn as he is before Jack in my contacts list. It rings for a while before he picks up. 'Hey, lil sis! What's up?' His voice says on the other end of the line. 'Hi, Finn.' I take a deep breath before continuing, 'I have some really exciting news for you and Jack.'
'Oh, okay. Let me get him . . . Jack?' I wait a minute as Finn puts me on speaker and Jack says hello.

'Hey, Jack.'
'So, what's so exciting?' Jack asks. I take a deep breath.
'Okay. This feels really awkward now. Erm . . . I'm pregnant?' I say, tensing because I'm nervous about my brothers' reactions. There's a silence for a while.
'Oh, wow. Really?' Finn says, sounding like he doesn't believe me.
'Mh-hm.' I reply.
'Congratulations! Are you excited?'
'Yeah! I can't wait.' I reply happily.
'Estelle, that's insane! Congrats! We're still coming for Christmas, right?'
'Thanks, Jack. And yes, you are.' I beam, even though they can't see my smile.

I finish the phone call with my brothers and move on to ringing my parents, who are just as happy as me and Joe are when I tell them. I find Joe sitting in the living room, frowning. 'What's wrong?' I ask. He looks up at me and shakes his head. 'Oh. Nothing, nothing. I was just thinking.' Right. Just thinking.
