Every parting gives a foretaste of death, every reunion a hint of the resurrection. – Arthur Schopenhauer

"Bro, are you ok? You zoned off there for a minute." Josh says.

"I'm ok, I was just remembering how Elizabeth and Genesis died." I reply.

"I still can't believe you didn't call me for help when that happened." He says.

"You were in school. I wasn't going to let you miss out on school just for help. Besides, it got handled." I reply.

I walk over to a tombstone that reads "To my beloved wife. Evelyn." I kiss the top of the stone and say, "I'll be back Eve, just give me a few days and I'll bring the girls to see you."

We start walking out of the small cemetery and walk into the road. After a few yards, I can see a dog running towards us. It's Lobo, my dog, a beautiful Siberian husky with blue eyes. It was the last gift my grandfather gave me. I kneel and Lobo is excited to see me.

We start walking again and I see two little girls running towards us. "Daddy!!!" They yell.

It's my twin girls. Once they reach me, they hug me hard and even though I'm in serious pain, I ignore it and hug them back. They immediately start asking questions if I'm staying or leaving again, they tell me about the complaints the other child did or that their older sisters scolded them when they were bad, even though they swear that weren't doing anything bad.

Once we reach the ranch, I see my older girls standing outside the house. Jasmine and Lydia. My oldest daughters that found me before the events of the black out before the third world war. Their eyes tear up and they run up to me and hug me hard, I groan in pain and they apologize for hurting me.

"It's nothing", I say. "I've taken much worse damage, trust me on this." I state.

I stand there and look at the ranch. I see the solar panels, the windmills, the fruits and vegetables, the livestock. I knew it was a good idea to invest money in the ranch. I always knew that this ranch would come in handy for whenever something bad happened.

After Genesis's death, my team and I went after a few more drug captains and took their money and we all split it. I used the money to build up the ranch and paid workers to take care of it while I was gone.

Once inside the house, we walk into the garage and take an elevator downstairs. Close to 50 ft underground, I made a secret base, just in case anything bad ever happened. Well, it was a good thing that these cartels had money laying around. We ended up taking all of it. They were left with nothing. But we were left with close to 50 million apiece. I figured they weren't going to use it anymore, then I would use it for the benefit of us.

Once inside the underground base, I walk over to the infirmary and my cousin's wife Claudia tells me to get on the table and she starts to examine me. Her husband was my cousin. He died during the black out, she and their children survived. When everything happened, I saw them in Mexico and asked them to come live at the ranch because I knew that they would be safe there. Besides the fact that I knew that eventually a doctor would come in handy, if anything happened.

"Tienes tres costillas rotas y unas fracturas. Necesitas reposó por mínimo unos tres meses. No hagas mucho esfuerzo o sí no después nunca te vas a recuperar Nicholas." she says.

"Gracias, Claudia." I reply.

Once she's bandaged me and she tells me that I can go, I walk over to the tech room and my daughter Lydia is there working on the computer. Lydia is 20 years old and before she came to me, I knew already that she was a smart girl, so I put her in charge of the tech and maintenance.
