Dating is really hard because everyone puts on a front. It's really difficult to see who is who, so it is important to be yourself.
Brooke Burke
As soon as Evelyn walks into the hotel, every guy stares at her. Evelyn was wearing a light silver, spaghetti-strapped satin dress. Whenever she walked, it was like her dress would fly with the wind. It was so soft and light that it would move with the wind. She was wearing white heels that whenever the light shined on them, they would shine like if they were carrying diamonds on them. She wore a silver watch to match her dress and a silver necklace with a cross to match her dress also. Her earrings matched her heels. They looked like diamonds that shined when the light hit them. They dangled almost two inches down. Her hair was that of mermaid's hair and put to the left side of her chest. You could tell that she wasn't wearing a bra. Her hair clips were bedazzled or maybe they were diamonds also. I could tell that she loved the good life. This woman was completely out of my league.
"What the hell was she doing going out with me?" I thought to myself.
I just hoped that I could impress her enough so that she could stay interested in me. She made me feel alive and in love again.
"Damn!!! That's OUR quartermaster?!" Marcus asked.
I couldn't answer because I was still in awe. Lloyd looks at me and I look at him and I just look down in shame of myself. Lloyd tells me that she dressed like that for me.
"Now you asked for this type of night, so might as well go and impress her as much as she tried to impress you". He tells me.
I nod and prayed to whatever god was out there to make it a good night.
I start walking towards her and I feel my knees buckling, my stomach full of butterflies and my throat starting to dry up. I felt like I was asking the prom queen out on a date. Which obviously would never happen because I only had three girls throughout high school. And that was Patsy, Jeniffer, and Monique and even then, I still don't know how I pulled that off.
I remember that when I asked girls out on a date back in high school, they would make this disgusted face and in their heads would say, "eww no, you can't be serious?" But all those girls in the end, ended up having like 10 kids with 7 different baby daddies. I laugh in my head because I start to feel better about myself knowing that this gorgeous woman was willing to go out with me even without me asking her out.
Evelyn's back was turned towards me and I hear her ask the front desk if I was in my room and if they could call me down. The concierge looks at her and smiles and points at me and says "Miss, your gentleman caller has arrived."
I hold the Rainbow Roses in front of me and stand up straight. She looks me up and down and I could see that she is completely baffled because she has never seen me this way. Honestly, I have never seen me this way and I felt like I was not myself, but I did it for her. Evelyn's face was damn near natural, all she had on was some mascara, eyeliner, blush and red lipstick. She looks at me again and bites her lower lip in a seductive way.
"Hubba Hubba!" She says.
I start to blush because only one woman has ever said a kind compliment to me and I wasn't even dressed up. The only one that complimented me was Mary, she always told me that I had a good head on my shoulders and that I would do something good in the world. I never believed her but in the end, she was right. I ended up doing good with my life.
But back to where I was at. Not even my ex-wife when we got married, nor Zaelia when we were together. Evelyn made me feel liked and wanted. I look down and feel my face turned red. She smiles and puts her hand behind my head and kisses my lips. I can feel the looks of every single guy in the hotel lobby on us. Almost in a jealous rage because I was with her and they weren't. I give her the roses and she tells me that they are gorgeous and that she loves them. She kisses me again.
