Now that I look back, I realize that a life predicated on being obedient and taking orders is a very comfortable life indeed. Living in such a way reduces to a minimum one's need to think.

I finish taking a shower with Eve. We get out of the shower, I put the towel around me and I go to the dresser to get my boxer briefs, my muscle shirt, and my socks. I put on my stuff and then go to the closet and take out my dress greens. While I put them on, Eve comes out with a towel on her head and nothing else.

"Really babe?" I ask her.

She whispers, "What sweetie?"

I point to the bed and we both look at the twins sleeping in the bed. She picks up my towel and whispers that the girls were asleep and I tell her that they might wake up. She tells me that they wouldn't. I say ok and continue getting dressed. Eve gets her dressed white Navy uniform and starts to put it on. I tell her that she looks good in white.

She replies, "Just wait till you see the wedding dress. You'll see how good I look in white."

I smile and tell her that I couldn't wait. I hear a phone vibrate and Eve tells me that it was her phone and if I could check to see who it was. I pick it up and tell her that it was her mom, she tells me to answer it. I answer it and Ruth tells me that she was parking outside the house. I say ok and then go to the front door and open it. I tuck in my shirt and fix my tie. I make sure that everything was nice and neat. I wave at Ruth and she waves back and starts light jogging to the front of the house. I greet her and she tells me that she barely had enough time to make it because she made Jonathan his breakfast for work and then immediately came over here. I tell her that she should've taken her time because we weren't leaving until around 7:30 am and it was barely 6 am. She tells me that it was ok because this way she could take a nap while the girls were asleep. I tell her that the twins had a nightmare and came last night to sleep with us and that the twins were still asleep in our bed. Ruth was in awe because of the twins having a nightmare and going to sleep with us. I tell Ruth that Eve was getting dressed and that I was going to make a pot of coffee for Eve and if she wanted a cup of coffee also. She says sure and we go back inside and Ruth goes straight to the bedroom to check on the girls.

I go to the kitchen and start the coffee machine. I take out the eggs and put them on the counter and go ask Eve and Ruth if they wanted breakfast before we left to work. Ruth says that she'll eat whatever I make. Eve says the same thing.

I go back to the kitchen and take out some tortillas and the chorizo that I had in the fridge. I use half of the chorizo and crack six eggs. I mix the eggs in a bowl and put the chorizo on a pan and mash it with the bean masher that I bought at the Mexican grocery store. Once it was cooked, I add the eggs and mix them all together. Once everything was cooked and ready, I put the tortillas on another pan and heat them up. Once I have a dozen tortillas cooked, I make a dozen tacos of huevos con chorizo. I put four tacos on each plate and put them on the dining room table.

Eve comes with her mom and they were talking about the wedding. Ruth then asks me why we don't get married in our dressed uniforms. I tell her that we were still taking pictures in our dressed uniforms but that I prefer to get married in regular clothes because I wanted Eve in a wedding dress. She says ok and sits down and asks what I made for breakfast. I tell her what I made and she says that she's heard of it but never ate it. I tell her that it was an acquired taste and not everyone liked it. I go back to the kitchen and take out the soda de Manzanilla and serve all three of us. Ruth and Eve bite into their tacos and Eve says that it was kind of spicy but it was a good spice. Ruth says the same thing and then drinks of the soda and says that she's never tasted a soda taste so good. I tell her that it was Mexican soda.
