We pass Waxahachie, Tx. And Eve looks at her phone's map. "We just passed Waxahachie babe." She tells me all excited.

I tell her that it was only 30 minutes so far. She replies, "My Samsung phone says that Mexico is still 6 hours to go."

I laugh and tell her that the map measures that at 60mph. The highway is 80mph at night, and that we would get there in less than six hours. She takes off her shoes and puts her feet up on the dashboard.

"I don't think that I have ever taken a road trip before." She tells me.

I tell her that I have driven the road since I was 16. "I used to drive my grandparents to Mexico ever since then. So I know the road pretty good. I could even do it with my eyes closed." I say kidding around.

"Don't you dare do it!" She says in a frightened voice. I tell her that I was joking around and start laughing.

20 minutes pass by and I ask Eve, "Babe, you ever been to Italy?"

She tells me no. I tell her that she has been now. She tells me that she doesn't understand. I tell her to look at her phone's map. She looks at it and sees that it says Italy, Tx. And she starts to laugh.

"You can't be serious?!" She says while laughing.

I tell her, "Italy is Italy, no matter where it is." She starts laughing again and starts to speak Italian.

I tell her that Italian wasn't necessary for this Italy. And I start to mimic a heavy Texan accent and say, "All you need in this Italy is a big Texan accent, little lady."

She starts to laugh again and tells me that she loves my Texas accent. Then I speak in my normal voice and ask her what she was talking about. She tells me that I had an accent. I tell her that that was no Texas accent. It was more of a hood accent. She starts to laugh again and I tell her that I was serious.

She leans over to kiss me and tells me, "Whatever it is babe, its sexy!" I smile and continue to drive.

I continue to drive and in another 20 minutes, she tells me that we just passed Hillsboro, Tx. I tell her "yup. We still got a ways to go."

She then tells me, "See, there's that Texas accent I was telling you about."

I start to laugh and tell her that she's crazy. She tells me that I can't hear it because I'm so used to speaking that way, I tell her that maybe she's right. She moves her legs from the dashboard and sits on her feet. In another 30 minutes we pass by Waco, Tx and she tells me that it feels like we've been driving forever. I tell her that it feels that way because it was her first road trip. After an hour and 40 minutes, we start making our way to the state Capitol.

"Welcome to Austin, Tx. Babe." I tell Eve.

She rolls the window down and sees the capitol. "Oh my god, it's like seeing Capitol hill but like in your state instead of the actual Capitol." She tells me all excited.

I tell her that we were going close by the capitol because I needed to refuel. She squeals and tells me that she can't wait to see what it looks like close up. I get off at an exit that leads into downtown and pull up to a gas station. I go inside and pay for a full tank. I see Evelyn next to the car like if she was a model. Some guys pass by and whistle at her. She doesn't even pay attention to them. She was more interested in seeing the capital of my state. I have been close by it so many times, but never this close. It really was a beautiful sight to see. I start to fill her up and a truck pulls up and tells me that I have a nice car. I thank him and he asks me if I was selling it. I tell him no because I rebuilt it from scratch. He tells me that I did a good job. I thank him and he goes on his way.
