Reunion (Part 1)

Our last stop was to buy our outfits tomorrow. Nakailang ulit din kaming fit at lipat ng mga shop para lang makahanap ng matitipuhan naming suotin.

Almost quarter to seven na kaming natapos kaya nagpahinga na muna kami saglit.

"I'm so tired. I think we should rest for a bit," I groaned.

"How about we go to a nail salon?" Abby suggested. "I want to have my nails done and pamper at the same time."

"Great! Habang naghihintay sa mga sundo natin. Let's go!"

Hinila na kami ni Thea. We agreed to have gel nail art polish. Simple lang ang pinili naming design ni Abigail. I even prefered to just have a simple but elegant french tip, samantalang si Thea ay kinakarir ang design.

She said she wanted look bold tomorrow, then so be it. I texted Mang Chris as well so he could travel already to pick me up. Fortunately, Romeo's been busy these days kaya nabawasan ang mga sermon niya sa akin.

"I had so much fun!" anang Abby.

Nagkibit-balikat ako. "I couldn't agree more."

We're on our way to the parking area. Naroon na ang kuya ni Abby at sasabay na raw si Thea sa kanya. At isa pa, malapit na rin naman daw si Mang Chris so might as well sumabay na sa kanila patungo roon.

"I'm so excited for tomorrow. Anong oras kayo pupunta? Call time's around five in the afternoon," Thea said.

"Baka dumating kami ni Spooner nang one hour earlier," sagot ni Abby.

"Well maybe I'll go around five," I plainly answered.

Sumimangot silang dalawa sa akin.

"Ang killjoy mo!" they grimaced.

"Tutulong ako sa prep. Allan called for some help. You should go, too!" Thea shook my arm. "I guess he's expecting you to come since, you know..." she said as she wiggled her eyebrows.

My brow shot up. Nakuha ko naman ang ibig niyang sabihin sa akin. Bali-balita na may pagtingin sa akin ang Amerikanong Hilaw na iyon dahil iba raw ang pakikitungo nito sa akin at madalas ang pagpaparamdam noon pero ewan ko, sigurado naman ako na wala lang 'yon.

"Come on. He's our friend. Huwag natin lagyan ng malisya." I rolled my eyes.

Right. Ang magho-host ng annual reunion namin for this year ay si Allan. That blonde and rich foreign dude. Dahil tuloy sa panunukso nila, pakiramdam ko, maa-awkward ako nito bukas sa kanya. Nakakainis naman kasi itong dalawang 'to!

"And Sunday is my only weekend so I have to finish my errands. Sorry," I pouted, partly diverting the topic. "I want to but I can't."

Abby looked maliciously at me. "Is that really the reason?"

Tumikhim ako. "What else could it be, Abigail!"

Ugh. Am I being interrogated right now?

Malisyosa rin akong tinignan ni Thea but in the end, she sighed in surrender.

"Fine, fine. Just see you tomorrow. Don't be late!"

After that, we almost jumped out of excitement on what we're going to bring tomorrow until Abby's older brother waved at us. Kaunting kamustahan lang bago sila tumulak paalis at ilang sandali rin ay dumating na si Mang Chris.

I ate my dinner peacefully at home. Wala sina Romeo at ganoon din sina Mom and Dad dahil nag-oover time na naman panigurado sa kumpanya. They're exerting too much effort for this campaign so might as well do my best, too. Bukas, iyon ang pagkakaabalahan ko. I'll proceed with my roughs and think of additional designs and concepts.
