I knocked on her door and she turned around and gave a smile like she usually does.
"Hey Mighty Professor. Come in come in." She told.
I shut the door behind myself and sat next to her as I placed the small bag onto the table.
"That's for you. A doughnut from a coffee shop I go to sometimes kinda near my place."
"You didn't have to get this for me Spencer."
"I didn't to a point. A friend dropped the doughnuts and coffee off for me."
"Morgan told me all about your little friend. Tell me all about her."
"You two act like school girls. Wouldn't be surprised if he skipped all the way here calling your names."
"He did. So cute. But tell me about her."
"We are just friends. She runs a shop I go to often and we have movie or tv show marathons sometimes."
"Do you like her?"
"I wouldn't be friends with her if I didn't."
"No I mean like like her?"
"Ok I see your just getting some insight on my friend so Morgan can learn more about her."
"No I'm sorry. I'm just curious cause you've never mentioned her till now."
"Because I'm trying to keep my words apart."
"Why? You don't want us to meet her cause we might not like her?"
"No! You guys would love her, it's just I want to keep her safe and she doesn't like being profiled by people. I should know the first time I did on accident she slapped me." I told before smiling at the memory.
My pocket began to ring and I grabbed my phone to see it was River. I instantly picked it up to hear her with a worried tone.

"Hey Spencer I know your working but someone followed me home and I'm completely terrified that they are going to break in."
"Did you get a look at their face?"
"Not really. Heard him mutter the words Steff and looks like."
"I'll be there as quick as I can. Who's place are you at?"
"In yours."
"Grab my spare gun and hide."
"I will. Please hurry."

She hung up the phone and I looked over at Garcia to see she was confused why I was worried all of a sudden.
"I gotta go."
"Spencer was that your friend?"
"He went off book a bit." I told before running out to go to my desk to grab my bag.
"Spencer what's wrong?" Hotch asked as everyone looked over at me.
"My friend will be the next victim, he went off book." I told before grabbing my bag and rushing off.
"Morgan go with him now!"
"On it."
We ran out of the building and Morgan said he will drive since I'm not thinking straight. We quickly rushed to my apartment and I didn't let him park the car completely before I bolted out and ran to River. I was about to reach my floor when I heard a banging on the door.
'River!'
I quickly rushed to her door to see someone banging on the door.
"Stef I won't hurt you!" He shouted.
"Sir I need you to put your hands up." I told as I aimed my gun at him.
"I want to see my sister." He told not looking up at me.
"You can see your sister after. Right now you need to put your hands where I can see them and come with me." I told as Morgan rushed up behind me and did the same.
He put his hands into the air and Morgan went over to arrest him. Once he was away from the door and was having his rights read out to him I went to my door and unlocked it. I made my way in and began to look for her.
'Where can you be River?'
"Is your friend ok?" Morgan asked.
"I don't know. I need to find her first..... Alright you primitive screw heads, listen up' you see this? This...
"Is my Boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line!"
"What?" Morgan asked shocked
"Love Bruce Campbell!" She shouted as a smile formed on my face.
'She is ok.'
I made my way to where the noise was and saw her hiding in my closet with the gun in her hand held tight.
"Hey dr." I said quietly as I sat down near her level.
"Hey. Did you kill him or just arrest him?" She asked.
"Arrested. He went off book for some reason. I'm glad you called me when you did."
"I didn't know what else to do. I just thought you would save me if he did take me."
"Come here. You need the hug." I told as I stretched my arms to her.
She moved closer to me and hugged me back tightly as I stroke her hair to help sooth her.
Morgan came back in and gave a smirk at what he was seeing.
"I can finally meet her." He said.
"No you won't. This is as much as you get to see of her."
"Not even for a thank you?"
"Dr. He wants a thank you." I whispered to her but still loud enough for him to hear which made her laugh.
"Thank you big tough man." She told making me laugh as she reached her hand around to shake it without showing her face.
"No problem." He told as he shook it. "Not even a peak?"
"I don't like being profiled. Spencer knows from experience what happens when I am."
"She hits hard." I told making her laugh more.
"Well we need to head back into work to let them know he has been caught."
"Do you want me to walk you back to work?" I asked
"No I should be fine. I'll get my gun from my place and head back to the shop."
"Ok call if anything else happens and I will get here right away."
"I know you will Dr.Reid." She told as she gave me a hug before I got up.
"See ya Dr." I said before leaving with Morgan.
We took the unsub to the police department before heading back to work and I could tell Morgan was smiling.
"So that's your friend. She seems nice."
"She is. That's all your going to know and see about her."
"So where does she work?"
"At a shop."
"What type of shop?"
"One that sells things."
"You really not going to tell us any more about her?"
"No. Like I've said I want to keep my two worlds apart."
"You know we won't profile her."
"I know how hard it is to switch it off sometimes. Besides I don't want her to have to deal with what we deal with."
"Ok kid. I'm going to meet her one day."
"We will see."
