(River p.o.v)

I was reading a book as I relaxed at the counter with my legs up on it enjoying a coffee when the bell rang. I looked up to see a somewhat short lady with shoulder length blonde hair.
"Hi. My name is River and I own the store. What type of book are you looking for?" I asked as I gave her a kind smile.
"Well one of my friends needs something to cheer them up and I was wondering what book they would like."
"Well do they like old books?"
"Yes."
"I got the one for you. Follow me." I told as I got up and headed to the one of the shelves
I stood on the step ladder that was there and lightly brushed my fingers across the books till I found The book I was after.
"Here we go. Cent Nouvelles Nouvelles. The book is a collection of stories supposed to be narrated by various persons at the court of Philippe Le Bon, and collected together by Antoine de la Sale in the mid-15th century." I told as I handed her the book and got off the ladder.
"This is perfect. I'll give it to him when he come back into the office."
"I'll ring it up for you." I told as I headed to the counter.
I brought up the price and she seemed a little shocked.
"7000 dollars for this book?!"
"Oh yeah it's very rare book. But because you are so nice and sweet you only have to pay 1000. Unless you don't have 1000 then I can knock it to 850."
"You don't have to do that."
"Na I insist. My book shop does well and I've had that book for two years now. You get it off my back and it's going to someone who will enjoy the book. So do we have a deal?" I asked as I gave a smirk.
"We have a deal. I might just have to buy them books from this place here on out." She told as she payed for the book.
"I would love another regular. Most of my regulars are young people except one of my friends. I think they are the only other person who isn't young." I explained as I wrapped it up to keep it a mystery for them.
"Your friend buys books from you?"
"Yeah. It's how we met. Accidentally knocked a recent shipment I got and we've been friends ever since." I told
"Well I should head back to the office." She told before making her way out.
"Don't be afraid to come back any time!" I shouted before going back to my book and coffee.
I got a text from Spencer and I got a smile on my face.

"We just finished a case so I'll be down to get the books you held for me."
"Cool you in the plane now?"
"Yeah we are close to landing soon."
"That's good. I'll stay in late since I need to place some books I didn't get around to yet."
"See you when I can Dr.Finley ."
"See you Dr.Reid."

I put my phone back into my pocket and began to play Eulogy by Charlie Allen. After a few hours I noticed the time and saw it was already closing time, so I turned the sign around and went back to cleaning the shop. I was humming away when the door opened. I turned around to see Spencer walk in with his hair disheveled and I could tell he was extremely tired.
"You good Dr?"
"Yeah just extremely tired from the case. The nap on the plane didn't help this time. Especially since Morgan kept trying to learn more about you."
"It's been three weeks and he is still curious about me. Your coworkers are very persistent on knowing me."
"I mean I don't have many friends and I've known you for nearly two years now and they've only heard about you recently."
"Well I've been carrying my gun with me more often after that crazy dude so I can contact the police first next time. That way there won't be any risk of me meeting your coworkers."
"That will be great. I'm just thankful you understand why I don't want you guys meeting."
"Well it's very understandable. They are profilers and I've been helping you solve cases so they may be able to profile or work out that I am the one giving you hints." I told as I went up the step ladder to collect his books.
"It would have been easier if you continued to go into the BAU, that way we didn't have to keep this hidden."
"But then I wouldn't be your favourite bookshop owner. Besides sneaking around is fun isn't it?"
"For you maybe. I could get fired."
"I assure you, they wouldn't fire you since your the best asset to the team. You would just not be allowed to work for about a month I would say. Rounded estimate."
"This is why you are my favourite person."
"Oh shucks you. I'm not that great."
"You use your talents to get people the right book. That's great in my book."
"Oh my gosh you made a pun."
"I did?"
"Dang it. Anyway the books round up the 1000 dollars but cause your my favourite it's only half."
"You know you should stop lowering prices for people."
"It works great for my business. Just today I was able to sell Cent Nouvelles Nouvelles."
"That's 7000 dollars. You told me you not to buy it when we first met."
"I've had it for two years and a lady brought it for her friend who's been down in the dumps lately. Look if I ever find another first edition I will let you buy it at $7000."
"Did someone actually spend 7000 dollars on that?"
"Not exactly."
"How much did you lower the price?"
"By 6000." I told as I saw his shocked face.
"They only spent 1000 on a rare book?!"
"On the plus side I have another regular."
"You have enough regulars please stop lowering the prices River."
"Fine. Except for the elder since they are retired." I told as I finally rung him up for 500.
"River."
"Starting tomorrow."
He payed for the books and I closed up shop before we headed off.
"So dinner?" I asked.
"How about we stop and get pasta?" He asked giving me a smirk.
"Agreed. I'll pay as reward for solving another case and for being able to sell the book." I told with a smile.
"Not going to argue with that."
"Of course not Dr.Reid. You get free food and the last time we ate together you payed so it's my turn."
"It will be fine Dr.Finley. A new Italian restaurant opened up a block down from the shop."
"Lead the way then Dr.Reid." I told as we interlocked arms and marched our way to the restaurant.
