Christmas aint fun.

(River p.o.v)

I was staring at my ceiling when I began to get a call on my phone. I looked to see it was showing a picture of me and Mac n' cheese, with me on his back as I gave a peace sign.
'I should find the original copy I was given.'
I picked the phone up and put it to my ear to hear his family.
"Hey Rio."
"Hey Mac n' cheese. You missing me?"
"Very. The boys have gotten drunk."
"AND I SAY! ROMEO, TAKE ME SOMEWHERE WE CAN BE ALONE! I'LL BE WAITING, ALL THERE'S LEFT TO DO IS RUN! YOU'LL BE THE PRINCE AND I'LL BE THE PRINCESS! IT'S A LOVE STORY, BABY, JUST SAY, 'YES'!"
"Oh wow they are really drunk." I told
"They wanted to get drinks before we were to leave tomorrow."
"But you don't drive. How are you gonna get home to theirs?"
"I'll probably call one of my roommates or a taxi."
"You want those three in the back of someone's car who you live with and has never met them?"
"That does sound bad."
"Yeah. It really does."
"ZADDY!" The boys exclaimed.
"Yes?"
"We're tired." Tim told
"We wanna sleep." Vix added
"Can we go home now?" Joe asked
"Seems I should let you go for them." I told
"Probably best. I'll text you when we get home"
"Best do. I need to make sure my favourite boys get home safe."
"Talk later Rio."
"Talk later Mac n' cheese. Also, merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas." He told before hanging up.

'I wish I was there.'
There was a knock on my door and when it opened I saw that it was Dic.
"Hey Lil Ripper. I know your in here cause your having sad time...."
"Please stop calling it that. I'm not 9 anymore Dic."
"I will always call it sad time, because it sounds better then what Daisy calls it."
"Depression?"
"Yes. Well anyway, I know it's sad time, but there is a really bubbly girl with a cat. And I don't know what to do, and Daisy has gone to get some food and drinks."
"Bubbly girl with a cat?..... ohhhhh! I know who it is."
"Oh thank god. I was worried I let a stranger in."
'He is so weird.'
I walked over and put on some slippers on since my floor was cold and I walked out to see Penelope there with Emily's cat.
"Hey."
"Kitten!"
"So much pep. Reminds me of Joe except I hope there wasn't a repeat of the zoo incident." Dic told
"Na.... at least I hope not."
"Zoo incident?"
"You don't wanna know." We both told.
"So what are you doing here?" I asked as I neared her.
"Well I thought it would be nice to spend time with you and your adoptive parents/ therapist." She told
"They know?" Dic asked
"Just the cutting and mum being murdered and dad getting shot on the job."
"Oh. Wow.... I think I'm too used to your boys knowing everything." He told before going to the kitchen.
"Don't mind him." I told her.
"I didn't expect you to be in this look." She told before looking to see I was wearing slippers and then compared our height. "I also didn't expect you to match my height."
"I'm actually a few inches taller then you. I just don't like being close to the ground. But yeah I'm in what Dic calls my sad time."
"It's nicer that way!" He exclaimed as he went to the guest room him and Daisy were in.
"Honestly when I think of Daisy, I don't expect her to be with someone like him."
"They are actually childhood sweethearts. Can I get you anything and you can take your shoes off."
"I could go for one of your wonderful coffees."
"I'll go do that then." I told before going to make it.
I made two and when I came back, I saw her looking at the snow globes mixed with the old photos I put up.
"I see you added more photos." She stated as I handed her, her coffee.
"Yeah."
"Who's all these people?" She asked as she pointed to a photo of when Uni boy was 5 months old.
"My family. That's Dic, Daisy and their two kids, Lucy and Kenny. Next to them in my uncle Marine and my aunt Mary with their two kids, De and Uni boy. They are dead...."
"But you were talking to them like a month or so ago." She said making me realise.
"Oh no! I see the confusion. My aunt and uncle are dead. She died in a house fire when I was a year and 11 months old when she died so I don't have any memory's of her, and Marine died in hospital from a car accident."
"I'm so sorry to hear that."
"He's with aunt Mary now."
"You believe in the after life?"
"I like to think there's a heaven and hell. A life after one on earth."
"That's sweet."
"Yeah. Well anyway, that's my parents and Nik with me."
"You look cute."
"Yeah. Back when I wasn't traumatised and started to suffer panic attacks. Life was great. Also I was close with my cousins till Sniper did what he did."
"You ever gonna tell us what happened?"
"I would have to explain the whole family drama and I'm not all for that. Anywho, and that my grandfather with my uncle, Sniper and Motor."
"You all seem happy here."
"Yeah. And now most are dead so what ya gonna do."
"Are you always like this in sad time?"
"Yeah a bit. Doesn't help I would be with my boys by now, trying to get them into the car and stop drinking." I told before heading to the couch.
"I never knew you liked collecting snow globes."
"It's a tradition. Get given a snow globe and give a snow globe."
"Hey it's a picture of you and your boy band..... I don't recognise him though."
"Ah Mac n' cheese. Yeah he's also apart of the group. He gets treated as the baby of the group with me even though we all know he isn't."
"You never talked about him."
"I don't talk about Dic and he exists."
"Is he also dead?"
"Na! We just hadn't talked a lot since me and him are both busy. He solves murders of the past from bones."
"Oh. I was worried he had pasted away."
"We all know I will sell my soul if he died to bring him back."
She sat down with me on the couch and went through the tapes that were on the table.
"What's family Christmas?"
"Put it on."
She quickly put it on and we watched the film.

"Why do you have a camera Harold?" Marine asked
"Because my dear brother. One day we won't be around for the kids and I figured we could record when the whole family is together."
"That's so sweet Harold." Dic told
"Are you already drunk?" Daisy asked
"No. I'm not. I'm just acting drunk cause apparently River spiked the juice she gave me. Such a lil criminal."
"She isn't here Dic. You don't need to act drunk."
"Oh yeah."
"She would be one of the best ones to get away with a crime." My grandpa stated
"Sweetie, have you seen the kids?" My mother asked
"No. Dic was with them last."
"The Seal one is playing with them."
"You gotta remember my nephews name." My mother told
"I have. I just like Seal better."
"This is why I named the kids and you didn't Dic."
"That's fair. Follow me!" He told.
We followed after Dic and went outside to see me on Snipers shoulders.
"Ready?"
"Ready!"
"Push the button."
I tapped his nose and he moved as a robot to pick me up and place me in his arms before we fell back into the snow making me laugh.
"Again!"
"Again?!"
"Yep!"
"Alright sweetie. We will go again."
As he picked me up to place me out of the snow pile we were in De came and picked me up.
"You sure you aren't cold yet?" He asked me
"Nope! If I stay active then I won't be cold. Simple physics."
"You are so smart."
"We got me to do a test. I have the IQ of 189."
"So your a brainiac then?"
"Yep!"
"Ready Riv?" Sniper asked.
"Ready!" I exclaimed as he picked me up.
"Push the button!"
I did the same as before and we fell back into the snow. Before being joined by the rest of the cousins and my brother.
"We should get them in." My mother told
"Yeah we should. Kids! Time to come in to get warm!" My father exclaimed making us all rush inside.
"I hope they always stay this close Harold. I would hate to see them stop talking for whatever reason."
"I'm sure they will Stella. Our little girl will make sure to keep her family together." My father told before the tape ended.

"Guess dad was wrong." I stated as I pet Emily's cat.
"You seemed so happy with your cousins. Now you won't talk to Sniper."
"I don't talk to him cause he did something he shouldn't have. Trust me, all my friends and family have tried. Daisy is the only one who continues to try."
Before she could say anything the front door opened and Daisy walked in.
"Oh I see one of your friends is here. Is that a cat?"
"Yes."
"I'm pet sitting and thought that since River is great with kids she would be great with pets." She told before standing and walking over to here. "I'm Penelope Garcia. We didn't get a proper introduction."
"Daisy Lenard. Your the tech girl of the team aren't you."
"She knows me?! You talked about me?"
"She talks about everyone on the team. We were actually glad to know she made more female friends."
"You like my boy band! Also there's Grace."
"Sweetie, Grace isn't your friend."
"Got me there."
"Well anyway. You are welcome to stay for din din sweetie. I learnt when River was in uni with her boy band she had less sad times."
"Your a professional, you shouldn't call it sad times."
"Dic is right. Sounds nicer." She told as she gave my forehead a kiss and left to make dinner.
'Why are my family weird?'
"DIC! WHY IS THERE A BAG OF POPCORN IN THE MICROWAVE!"
"OH SHIT! I FORGOT ABOUT THAT!"
'Definitely weird.'
"Your family is quite strange."
"Yeah. You haven't met my cousins.... god I hope you don't cause De will flirt with you."
"He would?"
"100% he flirts with quite a few girls."
"I'm learning so much about your family."
"Trust me. It's just the tip of the iceberg."
