The Lady and the Genius.

Wow this is the jet.

We made our way the the airport and I was jumping in my seat.
"What happened to you being nervous?" He asked as he gave my thigh a quick squeeze.
"I'm excited I get to go on a jet. The last time I was on a plane was when I was 10. And well if I hadn't to go and get my doctorate then I would still be in my home town."
"You've never actually told me where you were born. I've just realised that and we talk about a lot of things."
"It's not that special like Vegas."
"Anything to do with you is special."
"God your cheesy."
"Only for you."
We soon got to the airport and I was jumping on the spot.
"Ok you need to calm down. I haven't seen you this excited since we first went to the fair and you wanted to go on all the roller coasters."
"I love adrenaline from planes and rides."
"Does that mean you're going to love the adrenaline you'll get from this case?" He asked as he made our way to the others.
"No. I'm an adrenaline junkie for rides, horror films and rides and planes. Crimes like this have never caused me to have an adrenaline rush. Now the jet!"
I told as I grabbed his hand and tried to get him to rush so we can get to the team quicker.
"River we still have 10 minutes to get there."
"But the quicker we get there the quicker we get on the jet and the quicker I get to be in the air."
"Why do you like planes?"
"Just do."
We soon got to the rest of the team and they all got an amused look on their face once they saw me practically dragging Spencer to the others.
'They are definitely going to tease him for this.'
"Come on Reid! Planes are the way for us to fly and see what birds see!" I told as we got closer to them.
"Is that why you like planes?"
"I like flying for a lot of reasons. That's just one of them."
Once we got to the group I let him go and began to roll back and forth on my feet to help keep my energy in control as they all tried to figure out what was happening.
"What's got you so excited baby girl?"
"I get to go on a jet. Never been on one before." I told as I smiled up at him.
"Well it's quite nice in there. You wanna see it?"
"Can I? We aren't meant to leave for another 5 minutes."
"Of course Baby. Come on we will get you a window seat so you can watch the outside as we go." Derek told as he extended a hand for me.
I grabbed his hand and as soon as we began to walk towards the jet I began to try and drag him to it making him laugh.

(Spencer p.o.v)

Once she was far away from us Hotch began to speak.
"Reid. What's with her mood right now?"
"She apparently likes flying. Something to do with being able to experience what birds get to." I told
"She has only ever been on a plane once." Jj told
"When she was 10. It was when she was leaving her home town."
"I just realised she hasn't really spoken about where she grew up." Prentiss told.
"She never thought it was special. I don't even know much about her past only details here and there. Hardly spoke of it really until she was in uni. She didn't fully tell me why she liked flying in planes." Jj told.
"We should head to the jet before she starts to drag us like she did to Reid and Morgan." Rossi told before we began to make our way to the jet.
Morgan showed back in the door with a smirk on his face.
"Our pretty girl is telling me that you all are taking too slow and if you don't hurry up she will drag you all to the jet." He told before heading back to his seat.
"She is always able to make people smile. Even in cases where death is surrounded she can do it." Jj told.
We entered the plane and I sat across from River as Jj got Derek to sit next to me so she was next to River.
"You ready?" Jj asked as she sat next to her.
River didn't respond and just gave a nod as she stared out of the window.
"Did you know that the pilots and co-pilots are required to eat different food from one another. Is so that if one of them is tainted in a way the other person can still fly the plane." I told making her smile more.
'She most likely already knew that.'
I pulled out one of my new books from her store when the plane began to take off. We all looked over at River to see her smiling as she rested her head against the window so she can see as much as she could.
"Did you know that the moon tends to have dust hover it. Especially during sunrises and sunsets and no one is 100% sure why."
"You like space don't you." Rossi said which she gave a small nod.
"I do. Being in a plane is as close as you can get to space without getting to go there. Clouds look light but they are actually pretty heavy since they contain millions of tons of water."
"So what is it that makes you enjoy planes Finley?" Hotch asked.
"You get to be above everything. Be up and see what birds get to see and is as close as you get to feeling like it is to be a bird. My mother liked birds. She told me once, that she wants to be a bird in her next life and get to experience what it's like to be flying on air. Your also putting your trust in other people that you've never met or hardly know." She told as a small smile came upon her face as she continued to watch us travel.
'Must allow her to feel close to her mother.'
"Your profiling me again Dr.Reid."
"I didn't mean to. Was just admiring how close you feel to your mother when your in planes."
"Yeah. The reason I like roller coasters is because they were my favourite thing to do with Nick." She told as she finally looked at me.
"Who's Nick, baby?"
"My brother." She said before going back to looking out the window.
'She never said her family's name before. It's odd.'
