You are such an idiot.

Thankfully the trip to Washington was quick and I made my way to the hospital I was told. I made my way inside and I walked into the floor that was texted to me and saw a bunch of people in the waiting room.
'Possible coworkers and or friends. I hate that I came here. I haven't seen him since I was 16. Maybe this was a bad idea. Shit fuck outta luck I guess, past the 60 zone.'
I walked to the desk and got the ladies attention.
"Hi. How are you?" She asked as we both gave each other a kind smile.
"I am good. How about you?"
"I have been doing well. What can I do for you?"
"I need the room of one of the patients here."
"And who may that be?"
I quickly gave her the name and hoped she didn't see through the fake smile that took over my real one.
"Like I've told your coworkers. Only family can see him right now. Till then, you have to wait."
"Yeah, I'm his cousin. River Finley." I told
She typed a few things before looking back at me with another kind smile.
"I'm sorry about that, he is in room 507. Should be on the right, down that way." She told as she pointed.
"Thank you." I told before walking away.
The smile on my face instantly fell as soon as I was out of her eye sight. I headed in the direction of where she pointed and look at all the numbers to see it get closer to the number. Once I found the room he was staying in, I opened the door and walked in making him look over at me.
"River?"
I walked over to him and grabbed his pillow before hitting him with it.
"River will you stop that!" He exclaimed as he grabbed it to stop me.
"You were shot!"
"I'm fine."
"Fine? You are in a hospital!"
"Just for overnight observations. Seriously I'm fine. Anyway how did you know?"
"The shrink called, so I made my way to the airport and got the quickest plane here."
"I'm gonna kill Sweets."
"Seriously though. Why were you shot?"
"Just this case. This chick shot me, when she tried to escape being arrested, she didn't like that. I'm fine."
"Where'd you get hit?"
"Shoulder."
"Ah. Right one?"
"Left."
"That was my second guess." I told.
"So how did you get in here? I thought I wasn't allowed guest for another few hours."
"Not for your team and friends maybe. For family though I was allowed in."
"That's stupid."
"Honestly it is. I mean what if you don't have a family.... like me."
"Not everyone is dead in our family."
"I was an orphan at the age of 8."
"And then Dic and Daisy took you in."
"Never mind that Sniper. How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling fine."
"You know how I am. My family was hurt and I need to make sure they are actually ok."
"Even though you hate me?"
"You know I don't hate you a lot."
"Yes you do."
"Yeah I kinda do."
My phone began to ring making me pick it up.
"Hello?"
"River."
"Oh hey J. What's the haps?"
"We just wanted to know how your cousin was doing."
"Hold on that thought." I told before lowering my phone. "Do you have like a laptop I can use?"
"Yeah. Should be under my jacket."
"Thanks."
I quickly got the laptop set up and got it so we could see one another.
"Alright this works. What up team?"
"Are you in the hospital baby?"
"Did someone just call you baby?" Sniper asked
"Oh will you shut up?"
"Someone called you baby!"
"I will hit you in your bullet wound! Shut up."
"Is everything ok il mio piccolo genio?"
"Yeah just me and Sniper being our usual selves." I told before seeing him trying to find out who called me baby, making me hit his arm and whisper through my teeth for him to shut up and stop what he was doing before continuing. "And yes Derek I am in hospital right now since that's where my idiot cousin is at the moment."
"Only for the night."
"Your still in hospital!"
"River!" My team exclaimed making me look back towards them again.
"Yes?"
"Is everything ok on your end?" Hotch asked
"Yeah things are fine.... wait what happened to the chick that shot you?"
"She was shot dead."
"Yeah shits fine here."
"When are you coming home kitten? We all miss you already."
"Kitten?" He questioned.
"I'm allowed to have nicknames other then Brains and Riv." I told him before turning back to my team. "Depends how things go. Should be home after he gets released tomorrow."
"Did you call Jade about this?" Spencer asked
"Shit! I forgot about that."
"I'll tell her after work." He told
"Thanks Spencer."
"If you need us to come down there at any point just give one of us a call and we will be there." Emily told
"I should be fine. But I'll remember it just in case."
"Quick question kitten."
"Shoot."
"Is your cousin hot?"
"Penelope I'm not hooking you up with my cousin. That's just a no."
"It was worth a try."
There was a knock on the door making us look to see it was one of the nurses.
"I gotta go. Nurse is here and I want to see Sniper in a bit of pain."
"You worry us baby."
"Why does he call you baby?"
"I'm gonna smack you. Bye guys." I told as I gave a small wave which they returned before I stopped the call and closed the laptop.
The nurse did what he needed to before leaving. I was in an awkward silence with him for a bit till I spoke.
"So how is Parker doing?"
"He is doing fine."
"That's good. Still into soccer?"
"How did you know that?"
"I keep up to date with family things."
"Like your other two cousins?"
"As best as I can with them."
"Sure."
"The last time I actually spoke was when the baby of the family was at uni. So keep your opinions to yourself with then."
"I don't want to start this argument again."
"Glad we agree on that."
"So how come you won't stay longer?"
"Because we don't get along since I hate you. I also have my own life back home and I have to get ready for the Christmas rush next month, and do not get me started on needing to hand in any note taped to my door."
"What's this about notes being taped to your door?"
"It's nothing."
"River Victoria Charlotte Lane Finley. What are those notes?"
"The fbi are on it."
"That's it I'm going back with you." He told as he began to remove things making the machines think he died.
"Will you stop that!"
"What is happening back at your home?"
"I have a stalker apparently."
"You have a stalker?!" He exclaimed as people rushed in to see he was fine.
"Apparently!" I told as I moved out of the way for the nurses to fix everything.
"I'm calling Daisy."
"Don't even think about it!"
"You have a stalker. She needs to know this."
"If you call her, she will come down. And if I go down, you come down with me."
"Why would I go down as well?"
"You got shot. You know how she gets with things. You are going to get into as much trouble as me."
"Why are you right on this?"
"Because I know how she gets when any of us are involved."
"Just so you know. I'll get access to that case."
"Don't think about it."
"I need to know if your safe."
"They don't know I'm related to a fed!"
"This would be easier if you continued with the fbi dream of yours."
"Oh update on my end. I'm now also a fed along with owning a shop now."
"We really need to fix this rift between us."
"Na I'm good for now."
"Of course you say that." He told as he rolled his eyes towards me.
"So how did you recognise me so quick?"
"You still look the same just a bit older from when you were 16."
"Understandable."
"Well, everything else seems fine here. I'll go get your friends." The nurse told before leaving
"Guess that's my que."
"You don't want to meet my friends and team?"
"Would rather not. See ya. Try not to get shot dumbass." I told as I left giving him a little salute.
My phone began to ring again making me pick it up.
"Hello?"
"Hey. Just wanted to make sure everything was ok on your end. You seemed annoyed."
"I'm fine Spence. The dumbass made people think he was dying cause he took things out of him."
"Why would he do that?"
"I have no idea why sniper does anything that he does. I do know what he calls me Brains so there's that."
The nurse that helped him earlier and came over to me with paper.
"We need you to fill out some things since he wouldn't do it."
"Of course he didn't." I told before taking the paper and sitting down in the waiting room.
"What's happened?"
"I have to fill some paperwork out since my cousin wouldn't do it. God he can be a dumbass sometimes."
"Like what?"
"Mostly previous injures if he ever had any. Which he has. I caused one."
"Should I ask?"
"I accidentally broke his arm once."
"How?"
"We were wrestling and I accidentally broke it. I do not fully remember how it happened but it happened."
"How old were you guys?"
"I was 6 and he was 17. He was able to continue with his sports scholarship till he got a shoulder injury."
"Why don't you stay longer to spend time with him?"
"Because I do not want to. He wants me to meet his team and I don't want to do that as well."
"You should fix things with him."
"The boy acts like a child while also trying to act like my father. Bad combo right there."
"Isn't he older then you though?"
"By 11 years, yes. But it's still idiotic."
"He cares for you."
"Yeah he threatened to call Daisy once he found out about the notes."
"Is he going to?"
"No. Because I told him, if I go down he is coming down with me and we both don't want that."
"Cherie what are you doing here?" She asked as she sat down.
"Hey Caroline. I got called saying he was shot. So I came down to kill him."
"Have you had a chance to see him yet?"
"I did. He wanted me to meet his team but I said no."
"Why would you say that?"
"Because I don't want to meet his team."
"River who are you talking to?"
"Oh I'm talking to Caroline." I told before seeing I was done filling things out. "You two talk I gotta do something."
I handed her the phone and walked to the desk so I could hand the paperwork in. I ended up having to have a full discussion on what he will need to do making me become bored with everything.
'I can not handle all this.'
"Cherie what is taking you so long?!"
"Their telling me shit that's important apparently for him, even though I'm not going to be here after today."
"Do you know who will be here to help make sure he does all this?" The doctor asked
"His work mates. I got no clue, I hardly talk to the dude."
"I'll go tell him this then." She told before leaving.
I walked back over to her and she handed the phone back.
"He was very quiet."
"That's Spencer for ya. Well I gotta go."
"You really aren't going to meet his friends?"
"Nope."
"You know they are looking over at us."
"Good for them. I'll probably see you again in the future depends how things go." I told as I gave her a wave before giving a peace sign to his supposed team without showing my face.
'I don't need them searching for me.'
"Tell the team I'm coming home. I'll talk later. Love you bye." I told as I walked out of the hospital.
"Bye."
I hung the phone up and looked at my phone.
'Must have been near the team.'
