The Lady and the Genius.

This is bad

I drove to the BAU and made my way upstairs to see J was waiting for me at the elevator.
"You ready to see what you gave up?"
"I was so excited I had to tell my brain to shut up so I could sleep." I told smiling at her.
She lead me to what Spencer has told me about the place making me know it was the bullpen.
"This place is amazing."
"It is."
"I could fit so many books in a place like this." I told making J shake her head.
"Of course you think about your store."
"I love books what can I say. Besides I'm trying to force my brain not to ramble on like usual when I'm nervous."
"The team already loves you."
"Yes they do but there are many ways I can mess this up. What if I accidentally spill coffee on some important information, I could accidentally lead us into the wrong direction or to the wrong person, I could get stuck in the wall of the building with the skeleton, I could....." I was cut off by J putting her hand over my mouth.
"You started to ramble." She told
"Sorry." I said with a muffle.
She took her hand off my mouth and gave me a kind smile before she spoke.
"River you will do great. I wouldn't have asked you to help if I didn't know you were talented. Maybe you need some coffee."
"Yeah I need coffee. Where is it?"
"Just over there." She told pointing me to where it was.
I walked over and began to make coffee and for some reason I began to dance as I looked for things to help make me feel comfortable. I could feel I was being watch so I spun to see I was being watched by Derek making me jump.
"Jesus dude can you not."
"Sorry. I was just surprised you were dancing in the break room that's all. So what's with the talent of knowing someone is watching you?"
"Don't tell J this but my last relationship had my ex stalking me for a long time. Before that I could tell if someone was watching me but as soon as I met him and after my brain just goes to panic mode. Coffee?" I asked as I grabbed a second cup.
"I would love one but I should make you one as a welcome to the team."
"No I insist. My coffee is to die for." I told as I began to pour it for him. "Now how many sugars do you take?"
"I'll do the sugar but thank you pretty girl." He told with a smile.
I let him use the sugar first and once it was given to me I let it pour for a solid 3 minutes before stopping. I looked up at Derek to see he was shocked.
"Don't worry I still have enough coffee to go with the sugar." I told before taking a sip.
'This is good.'
"Just surprised since you aren't the first person to take a lot of sugar. This is really good. Did you work in a coffee shop at one point?"
"No. I just make really good coffee."
"That you do." He told as we clinked mugs and walked back to the bullpen.
I saw Spencer heading to the break room but decided to ignore that I saw him.
'Las Vegas River. Just Las Vegas.'
I went back to sit next to J since I couldn't be next to Spencer no matter how much I wanted to feel relaxed next to him.
'We don't know each other.'
"So what did you think of the break room?"
"It nice. Better then the one at my bookshop but what can I do? I'm just glad I'm able to make good coffee here."
Spencer walked out with his own coffee and I could tell he probably wanted to have one of mine that I've made for him on multiple occasions.
"Jj, did you know River can make the best coffee?" Derek asked which made Spencer look over at us.
"She doesn't tell anyone other then never worked in a coffee shop."
"I'm allowed to hide how. Besides it ruins the Magic if people knew how."
'That's a lie. I've told Spencer how I'm able to but they don't know that.'
"Spencer. This girl spent a solid 3 minutes pouring sugar into her coffee." Morgan told.
"I like sugar in my coffee if it's a crime then arrest me agent." I told making sure to not make eye contact with Spencer and put my arms as I joke for cuffs.
"Oh I can't arrest you cause of how cute you are."
"Oh shucks you. It's just Copper and Tellurium." I told.
"What?"
"Copper is Cu and Tellurium is Te on the periodic table and it spells Cute." Me and Spencer told at the same time making us smile.
"I can't handle the two genius's." Derek told make me laugh as he headed to his desk.
Spencer went to his and pulled out a book to read which I new as one of the books he brought from mine.
"You know I think you two would get along great." She told as she pointed between me and Spencer.
"J you can think that but I don't know him like everyone else does. I can profile all I want out of him but it will never be 100% of who he is."
"Then go talk to him."
"I'm not going to talk to him because you tell me to. Besides meeting and talking at the pub is different from talking at where you all work. There I wasn't nervous here I'm freaking out." I told
"Girl chill."
"I can chill all I want but it will not help me not be nervous. Besides it's better this way, no? I get to spend my time with you."
"Your chair has wheels yes?"
"Yes."
"Good enough for me." She told as she stood up and pushed me to where Spencer's desk was landing at where he walks in and out.
"J, my coffee is at your desk." I told as I begun to leave only to be pushed back down as my coffee was placed on Spencer's desk.
"Not a problem. Have a nice chat you two." She told before walking back to her desk.
'Oh I'm going to kill her.'
I gave a small nervous smile towards him as he gave one as well.
"Hi." I said quietly.
"Hi." He replied back which made me realise how nervous he was as well.
"So what you reading?" I asked as I knew the answer but wanted to ignore what happened last night.
"Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency." He told.
"Oh I love Douglas Adams books. I like the way Dirk thinks." I told.
"Is that so?"
"Very. My favourite part is that Douglas Adams said that he doesn't remember exactly how everything pieced together after a few years, making it even more strange to the readers." I told
"Well the brain does delete information that isn't used regularly."
"Because if we remembered everything then our brains would have an emotional melt down not being able to handle everything."
"Exactly."
We both smiled and I could feel the nervous gitters fade away the more time I spent with him.
'Maybe I won't kill J.'
"Alright now that everyone is here let's head off to the sight." David told.
I quickly got up and went to J so we can be together on the way there.
'This is fine. It's fine."

(Spencer p.o.v.)

We got stuck behind a bit since we got the red light and I couldn't stop thinking about how River was acting.
'Does she not want to spend time with me after the kiss we shared. Probably thinks I'm not interested in her since I didn't do anything when she kissed me. But she kissed me and I wish we could do it again.'
"You good pretty boy?"
"Yeah just thinking."
"Is it about the dr?"
"It is."
"She ok?"
"Yeah she is fine...I think at least I don't really know. Last night was ended weird for us." I told
"How so? Did you tell her your feelings?"
"No far from that."
"Well what happened then?"
"I can't say." I told as we neared to see the house with everyone else there.
"I'm going to get you to tell me later." He told before we got out.
We made our way in and saw River was already making her way to find the skeleton.
"How you going River?" Jj asked as she sat next to the entrance that she obviously went through.
"Well it's very dusty and the smell is very musty."
"What do you mean musty?" Jj shouted back.
"Well if the person was instead mummified in the walls then the smell wouldn't be like a body decomposing. Instead the smell is usually a musty one." I told.
We heard a bang and River swear from the wall.
"You ok?" Jj asked
"Yeah I'm good. Just was shocked to hear someone else beat me to the punch."
'That's not true. Obviously she was shocked to hear me which is probably why they didn't wait for me and Morgan.'
"Found the girl."
"You sure it's a girl?" Morgan shouted down.
"Use the mic dude!" River answered back.
Jj and Morgan were called over to Hotch so I was left to talk to River while she was looking at the victim.
"You know J, sometimes I wonder what my life at the BAU would have been like but then I think to all the people I've met selling books. There's one dude who I've met who is really sweet and nice. He gets me and it's weird I don't know. I can tell he doesn't think highly of himself but if he could see how I saw him I think he would be surprised. Jesus I touched a web!" She told making me chuckle. "Oh my god I thought I was talking to J who's this?"
"Have a guess."
"Oh god it's Spencer. Kill me now."
"Not a chance."
She was silent on her end for awhile making me speak to her.
"River you ok?"
"Well they weren't stuck. Also how many bodies did the kids say they saw?"
"Only one why?"
"Well unless I have lost the ability to count there is more then one back here."
"River get out of there."
"Oh I am leaving. Thank god I brought extra clothes and a brush."
"There's also some water out here for you."
"Oh that's good. Can't imagine inhaling dead people is great. Well except for the people in Europe who decided to play pass the parcel and then snort them after grinding up the bones."
"It was a strange occurrence that happened but interesting non the less."
"It was. Fiddle sticks."
"You okay River?"
"Yeah just found a blood covered knife."
"You hurt?" I asked as I began to panic.
"Na didn't stab or scratch me I kicked it not knowing it was there."
"Ok well just get out of there. We will figure what to do once you are out and safe."
"Worried about me Doc?"
"You know the answer already."
"Still better to hear it."
"I'll say it when you get out of there how about that."
"Fair.....think I took a wrong turn."
"Wrong turn? How do you take a......" I cut myself off when I looked to see she was lying and was coming out of the hole in the wall.
"Aww I wanted to hear the rest of that question."
"Not going to happen now. Come on I've got your water here." I told as I offered her the water as she began to make the rest of the journey out.
"Thanks." She said as she grabbed it and went back to her nervous self.
"River come here! We gotta checkout the footage you have." Jj told her.
"Ok." She said as she rushed over to her having me follow so I can stand next to her no matter how much she wanted to run.
We went over the footage and saw what she meant about there being more then one.
"Turns out we have a killer on our hands."
"I'm pretty sure mines dust and the cobweb I touched."
"Come on we will get you changed before you head back to base." J told as she began to lead River to someplace isolated from the team.
"Hey guys check it out you can totally see the exact moment she hit her head." Morgan told.
'This is an interesting case.'
