I walked into the office and was actually happy with how things between me and River were. Last night we agreed to go on a date once the case was over and I asked her if she will go out with me as I handed her a soup shaped like an ear which made her laugh.
'River is my girlfriend now and I couldn't be any happier.'
"Oh River I'm so glad your back." Jj told as she ran over to River to give her a hug.
"J I wasn't in hospital. Just my bookshop needed two people yesterday instead of one." She told knowing no one would look too deep to see if she was lying since they will get slapped.
"How was the shop yesterday anyway?" I asked
"Quite like most days before the rush of people come in. But this case should be solved before that happens." She told
Morgan walked over to me and gave me a look.
"So how was last night with the doctor?"
"It was good. We watched a movie and had take out."
"Did you tell her your feelings?"
"Did Spencer tell her?!" River shouted as she rushed over to join Morgan's side.
"No I didn't tell her."
"Boy you are lying you have a pep in your step." River told making me roll my eyes at her.
"She's right you do. Tell us everything?" Morgan told as him and River placed their chins in their hands.
"I don't need to say why I have a pep in my step. Things are good between us." I told
"Well I'm going to make some coffee. Anyone want any?"
A few members of the team agreed along with me and Morgan. She began to make her way to the break room before Morgan spoke.
"Oh River has a pep in her step as well. I think she had a good night."
"Did you just profile me Morgan?" She asked as she turned around and I looked to see he instantly got scared on what's going to happen.
"Should I run?"
"No. I'm just not going to make you coffee." She told before finishing the rest of the way to the break room.
"Morgan is in trouble." Jj told.
I got up from my desk and went to the break room to help River carry all the cups to people. She was humming away and it brought a smile to my face.
"You are terrible you know that."
"Oh what ever do you mean Dr.Reid? You do have a pep in your step."
"So do you."
"Only because Jade did wonderful this morning opening up all by herself it was wonderful to see."
"You must like this girl."
"She fits perfectly into my shop and some of the regulars that have came in like her so much."
"That's great to hear."
Jj popped her head into the break room and gave us a smile.
"Hey guys Rossi wants us in the meeting room to go over what we know."
"Be there in just a second the coffee is nearly done." River told giving a smile back.
"Would you like me to wait for you to take you there?"
"It's all good. I have Dr.Reid to show me the way since he offered to help carry the coffee. Just save me a spot next to you." She told.
"Of course."
She left us alone and River turned back to the coffee and she began to put sugar into everyone's drinks.
"You think she knows?" River whispered as I stood next to her
"Doubt it. I'm nice to everyone and well no one dares profile you to see if you are lying."
"Makes sense. Well these are done this is yours and the other one you hold is Prentiss." She told as she grabbed the two in front of her.
I grabbed the coffees and showed her the way to where everyone was and thankfully the seat Jj saved for River was next to another empty seat which I took.
"Ok now that everyone is here let's go over the case again." Rossi told before signalling to Garcia to start.
"Ok lovelies. Here is what we could find out from the footage. We assumed there was only one body but like River said there is more at least ten all up and it's unsure how long they have been there for." She told which had River chime in.
"Well if we assume all bodies are mummified like the first one then I would say after the Great Depression or during it."
"Why do you say that?" Hotch asked.
"Well the look of the house and the decay makes it at least 100 years old which would place it being built in 1919. I would say it was left abandoned by 1930 since the Great Depression was from 1929-1933 in most places. Meaning they've been there for awhile but the knife is more recent. The knife is a rough rider swing blade black stonewash double edged stainless folding knife from 1979. Probably was left there from the last victim which is the female and by the looks of it she is in her late 20 probably just early 30s and....." she was cut off when Jj put her hand over her mouth to signal for her to stop.
"Sorry, when she is on the roll she won't stop." She told as she took her hand off.
"I'm great at debates though and trivia nights."
"She really is like a female Spencer it's unbelievable." Prentiss told
"What do you think Reid?" Rossi asked.
"Everything she says is correct and exactly what I would have said only to be cut off sooner."
"I mean a mummy placed in the walls is the easiest place to create a mummy without being seen depending on the weather." River told
"She is right. If the weather it hot and arid environment then it take about 2 weeks."
"It does take a couple of months in enclosed spaces however. Think about ancient Egyptians and their process. They extract the organs before embalming the body's and wrapping the remains in linens. However the mummy known as Ötzi the iceman frozen remains were found in the Italian Alps."
"There's also the Chinchorro cadavers That were buried in the Atacama desert in north Chile and was safeguarded by the arid sand." I told
"When creating mummy's you need to look for these types of environments. Really dry, or really wet...." she told before pointing to me.
"Or really frozen or really high elevation." I told before we fist bumped finishing off our lesson.
"If they learnt how to continue explaining things we can never stop them." Morgan told making River laugh.
"How do you guys know this?"
"I learnt about Egypt when I was 5." River told with a smile.
"I know a lot of things." I told.
"Well we have finally be given permission to open up the wall but we need River to go back into the walls to give a knock so we don't damage any of the bodies."
"Dang it I didn't bring any spare clothes with me this time." River told.
"We can stop by your place on the way there." Jj told
"Jj knows where you lives?" Garcia asked
"No. I moved after my crazy ex. But it's fine I can just meet you all there."
"You drive?" Morgan asked
"Na. I took a bus since I had to stop at my bookstore this morning and my place is only three blocks away from it."
"Isn't that near Spencer's place?" Morgan asked
"Like four blocks....why?" I asked.
"Reid you will drive to Finley's place so she can pick up some clothes."
"Would I be able to go as well?" Jj asked
"If Finley is alright with it."
'Oh this is bad.'
"Oh I can see your new place."
"I mean as long as I can race you to my place." River told
"We will see you guys there then." Hotch told before everyone was allowed to leave.
"Well lets go shall we." River told as she got up.
