The Lady and the Genius.

This is bad.

(Spencer p.o.v)

River walked out of the room in tears and I felt so terrible about it.
"Spencer. What are you guys on about?" Jj asked as she slowly began to walk towards me.
"I can't say."
"Spencer. Tell me what are with those letters!" Jj shouted
"It's Rivers choice wether she wants the team to know not mine."
"Spencer she is my family and she won't tell me this but she told you."
"I only know because there was a letter on her door when she went to grab clothes so she gave me a brief run down. I don't know everything about them."
"Wait there was one when we knocked on her door. We just thought someone was trying to let her know about something without being face to face." Morgan told
"She didn't tell me she got one this morning." I told as I pushed my hair back.
"Oh my god. She's being stalked isn't she." Garcia said which made me look down.
"She didn't want the team to worry." I told quietly.
"Prentiss get River back here. We are going to do a run down and see if we can get to the bottom of this." Hotch told as she ran to get her.
"Why didn't you tell us Spencer?"
"She wasn't ready for you guys to know. She didn't even want me to know and as soon as I found out I've been trying to get her to tell someone. She won't go to the police about this."
"So you don't tell us?!"
"What do you want me to do Jj? Betray her trust when we are all she has as a family!"
"I just can't believe out of everyone you aren't being smart about this."
Prentiss came running back and shook her head telling the team that she missed River.
"Morgan and Prentiss go to Rivers address so you can pick her up."
"Let me go." Jj told
"No. Your too worked up right now."
"But...."
"No buts. You are staying here."
'This is bad. This is so bad and I've caused it.'
"Reid."
"Yes?"
"Do you know where she keeps the letters?"
"Sort of."
"Will she grab them when they get her?"
"No. She will try and pretend this never happened." I told
"How do you know this Spencer?" Jj asked
"We talk about things."
"Then I guess we are all going to her place if she won't bring the letters."
'Please be ok River.'

We were waiting in the bullpen for them to come back with River and I just wanted to hug her and tell her everything was going to be ok. My phone began to ring and I rushed to pick it up in case it was River. Once I saw her name a small smile came on and I picked it up right away and moved to the break room.

"Dr?! Are you ok?"
"As ok as having Derek wanting to break my door down! Why are they here?"
"They were told to get you."
"Tell them I don't want to go in. I need to breath because I will have a panic attack."
"Then tell them that. Babe please."
"That's the first time you've called me babe."
"And I will say it again but they need you back we have a killer who could be the same person that killed your mum."
"Trust me. They have been dead since I was 8. It can't be the same person."
"Then come back in. The team will understand and I'm so so sorry that I did this."
"You're just worried about me. I get that. I will tell them after we've told them about us."
"I like that idea."
"I'll see you soon."
"I'll see you soon dr."

She hung up the phone and I let out a sigh of relief at knowing she was ok.
"She ok?"
I jumped and turned around to see Hotch standing there giving a smile.
"Yeah. Morgan has nearly given her a panic attack."
"I would have sent you but I didn't think she would have wanted to see you."
"We are going to tell people after this case. We are both ready for the team to know."
"I'm proud of you two. You two are perfect for one another and I'm just glad I don't have to hide it anymore. As much as it was fun making jokes that no one else got it's time."
"Yeah. Especially if there is a chance she is joining."
"She didn't tell you?"
"Tell me what?"
"She became an official member about a week ago. She was waiting till Jade got a raise and her exams were over for her to work full time at the store, and wanted everyone to know over dinner she made before she took a more prominent role on the team. She said she was going to tell you."
'I'm going to be working with her.'
The elevator dinged and we headed out to see Morgan and Prentiss walk in with River. Before I could go see if she was ok Jj ran and gave her a hug.
"Maybe later you guys can tell everyone. Right now Jj and River need to talk." Hotch told before leaving me by myself.
'I'm glad she is ok.'
"Everyone we may have a problem." Garcia told bringing all our attention to her.
"In the meeting room. Now." Hotch told.
We all rushed in there and Jj wouldn't stop glaring at me whenever she looked my way.
'This is great. I'm dating one of her best friends and she hates me right now.'
I was sitting next to River again but her chair was extremely close to Jj which was obviously her doing.
"Ok so, I have been sent back everything in the data base and there is no evidence."
"So we cant do anything to help the family?" River asked.
"Not really no. It seems the cameras were knocked out so no one knows."
"Great. I'm going to make some coffee." She told as she headed downstairs.
"She ok?" Hotch asked me but Jj got to it first.
"She is still shaken from earlier, thanks to someone. But having coffee will help calm her down. I think this case is just a little close to home for her."
"How so?" Rossi asked.
"Maybe we should asked her. I'm sure she would rather tell then have someone else do it." I told
"Spencer don't talk about her like you know her."
"What is your problem with me Jj?"
"My problem is the fact that you didn't tell me she was being stalked!"
"Because it's her choice not mine. Like it's her choice to talk about why this case is close to home for her not yours!"
"Will you two please shut the hell up already!" Someone shouted.
We turned to see River standing there with a mug.
"Yes I should have told you J, but I knew you would not want me to leave your side for one second. And yes maybe Spencer should have told you all but I made him promise not to. Like how he hasn't told anyone why this case hits home for me. I'm allowed to tell people secrets and not tell others. Hotch knows who I'm dating for god sake! And he knows I was going to invite everyone to mine tonight and make dinner before telling you lot I accepted the job and will be an official member Monday."
We were all silent since we never heard her yell before and she calmed down.
"You've accepted the job?" Jj said.
"Yeah. I accepted it a week ago we were just waiting."
"But your shop?"
"Jade finishes her exams tomorrow so once she came to mine for work then she is becoming a full time employee. Which will give me more time to work cases with you guys. I wanted it to be over a nice chicken carbonara since I told David my recipe is really good and a plain vegetarian carbonara all for Penelope but I was mad. Do you hate me?"
Jj got up from her seat and ran to hug her.
"I could never hate you. I'm so glad your finally joining the team."
"Well I would have joined sooner but rush season."
"Well since this is a cold case till we get anything. How about we celebrate with dinner at Rivers?" Hotch told.
"Hell yeah." Garcia told making us all laugh.
'Maybe things will be fine. We can tell them all tomorrow.'
