The Lady and the Genius.

What do I do?

(Spencer p.o.v)

Ever since I got off the phone with River, I haven't been able to stop thinking about that call.
'Why is a mental institution calling her? How many times have they tried to call her? Is that the number that always call her but never blocks? This is all so confusing. Why wouldn't she tell us all this?'
"Pretty boy are you ok?" Morgan asked pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah. Why do you ask?"
"You've been silent all day."
"Maybe he misses his best friend." Prentiss suggested.
"I just hope everything is ok on her side. That's all."
"If you say so pretty boy." Morgan told as he patted my shoulder before they all left.

Everyone had left leaving me, Rossi and Hotch in the office. I looked over at Hotch's office to see Rossi wasn't in there. I let out a sigh before standing up and making my way to it. I gave it a knock and heard him say come in. I opened the door and walked in as he looked up.
"Is everything ok with River?"
"Yeah.... no.... I don't really know."
He motioned for me to shut the door and I did so before asking the question I needed help knowing the answer to.
"Uh Hotch can I ask you a question?"
"Of course." He told before motioning me to sit.
I quickly made my way to the seats and sat in the same one I sat in when River was asleep on his couch.
"So I know River has a weekly meeting with you about stuff and...."
"What did you find out that your scared to ask her?" He asked cutting me off.
"Has she ever told you about the Moon mental institution?"
"She's never said anything about it before. Why do you ask?"
"Well we were spending time together and she went to get our dinner, and her phone began to ring like it has been doing for awhile. I thought it was my phone and picked it up only to learn it wasn't and that a mental institution has been calling her."
"Should you ask her about this yourself?"
"I'm worried."
"She knows about your mother...."
"I know that. I'm more worried about the fact that she might hate me for the mistake of picking up her phone or that she hiding something."
"Reid, her guardian is a therapist. She most likely calls a lot or has people call to make sure she is ok. But you won't know unless you ask her yourself."
"But what if it's something worse that she doesn't want us knowing."
"She is well trained to not show emotions or what she is truely thinking. But you should really be asking her all this."
"Do you know if she's doing well in these meetings?"
"She is. She still won't discuss everything about her past or her family, but she talks very highly of you."
"She does?"
"She does. She has told me a lot about the time you two grew to become where you are today. But I think you should talk to her about this. Because if you don't then you will become more worried about her then before. Which could effect your work effort."
"Thank you Hotch."
"No problem. Now go home. It's late and I'm sure River would get mad if she finds out you haven't been sleeping well."
"Yes sir." I told before getting up and leaving.
'Hopefully I'll be able to sort this out before she gets home.'
