The clues to the case

(Spencer p.o.v)

'She never mentioned one of her ex's was in a band. And a famous band for that matter. If she wasn't moving then they most likely would have stayed together and be married by now. I just have to relax and remember that they are separated and she is with me now. I don't have competition since we are already together. I was just surprised, I'm not jealous.'

"No Tim, I'm working I can't get a beer with you and the boys..... you shouldn't be calling me at all unless it's to do with the case..... I love you and everything but I will punch you in the throat if you call me again and it doesn't have to do with the case."

She hung the phone up and taped her head a few times with it before putting it back in her pocket.
'Ok yeah I'm jealous.'
"Boy band troubles baby girl?"
"He wants to hang out while we are both in town. Something about making it like we are 18 again but with booze. But I'm focused now on the case and the vic."
"So this was the girl that was taken last night." Morgan stated.
"Seems like it." Prentiss told
"That either means they panicked and killed them straight away or they don't care about prolonging their eventual doom." River told.
"Have you seen these marks. They aren't shallow at all. They truely have no remorse for their victims." I told as I went over the body.
"Have all the other girls been taken from the same place?" River asked
"Believe so. Why?" Prentiss asked
"Well how long have these killing been happening here?"
"About a week, baby."
"You've figured something out haven't you?" I asked.
"It's only a hunch but....." she was cut off by her phone ringing.

"Tim I swear to god..... oh sorry sir. Uh yeah we can get down there right now. Ok bye. Sorry again."

She hung the phone up and put it back in her pocket before she showed a sheepish look.
"We are wanted at the station." She told.
"Well then let's go." Prentiss told as she stood up straight.
'Maybe the quicker we get this case done the quicker we can get home and River away from Tim. I hate being jealous.'

We walked into the station and headed to where we are set up and began to mark where the new victim was.
"We discovered that they all happened to buy the same book a week before they were taken." Hotch told.
"Oh what book?!" River asked as she quickly began to fish for her phone.
"Moby Dick." Rossi told.
"Moby Dick?! Odd." She told before she began to call her phone.

"Hello this is Jade. If your looking for River she is out at the moment but I'll be happy to help."
"Hey Jade it's me."
"Oh hi River. What seems to be the problem?"
"Could you look up reasons why someone would buy a Moby dick book for me. I should have a file on the laptop at the store with the list."
"Sure just give me one second..... Bob I told you, if you grab a book off the shelf put it back the way it was! Sorry 'bout that."
"It's all good just keep focus."

There were some taps from the other end before she came back.

"Ok so we actually have a list of about five people who want the exact book. Two wanted it for a book report, one wanted it since they lost their original copy which is a second edition, how is that going by the way?"
"Jade what are the other two reasons?"
"Oh hiya Spencer. How have you been?"
"Jade focus please. We need the reason for the other two."
"Oh right sorry. Little frazzled at the moment. Ok and the other two wanted them because a dude they like from a band said it was his childhood story. Man that's dark."
"Thank you Jade! You were a big help I will call you if we need any more help."
"No problem. See ya later guys."

River hung the phone up and looked at us before she gave a smile.
"I think I know the connection they all have." She told
"Just from that list of people."
"Also when has Spencer and Jade met?" Morgan asked.
"Is that really important right now?" I asked
"Just curious."
"Well if we go Heathers route then it's suicide."
"River I can't believe you actually was able to make a reference." I stated as I pinched the bridge of my nose.
"I had a chance and I took it. But I have a theory....."
Before she could tell what it was, Morgan's phone began to ring and he picked it up.

"Hey baby girl your on speaker."
"Ok so over the past year about 100 people have brought the book Moby Dick."
"Why so many?"
"Well the bass player of this popular band told in a fun fact interview he enjoyed Moby Dick from when he was young. I even brought one. Apparently girl like to get him to sign the book when they meet him."
"What band?"
"Good question Hotch. The band is called Midnight Zombies. They were formed in late 1989 and only got traction after their original lead singer left."
"Thanks Baby girl. We will call you if we need any more details."
"See you guys."
"Wait Garcia! I have a little favour to ask."
"Well go ahead River."
"Can you see if any other victims have arrived in other states following Midnight Zombies?"
"I certainly can. I'll send you the info once I get it."
"Thanks Garcia."

The phone was hung up and we all turned to look at River.
"Wanna tell us your theory Il mio piccolo genio."
"Ok so the killer may be following Midnight Zombies from state to state. It's just a theory at the moment and we will only be able to confirm it once Garcia return with the information."
"Everyone lets see what we can find out." Hotch told
'This is going to be one of the worse cases we have done.'
