ARIADNE'S POV

Scott and I were supposed to be hanging out but he said he had to drop some dinner off for Melissa, I told him that it was fine and that it would be nice to talk to her.

As we walked in the hospital, it looked chaotic. People were getting rolled in and others were bloody it had cuts on them.

" I'm starving" Melissa looked happy as she took the bag from Scott. " Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Thank you for bringing me dinner" she turned around and gave us both a hug. " Is everything ok?" I asked looking around the hospital. " Yea, except for half the accident in a ten car pile up being rerouted here from downtown, and the ER attending is not answering his pages, Yea I'm ok" she ranted.

" What does not answering pages mean?" Scott asked his mom. " It means that nobody can find them so now we have to wait for the on call to get here" she said but quickly turned around when a woman called for her. " Can i please have something for the pain?" She asked Melissa. " I'm sorry, I know. But, actually giving you something could complicate things. So we just need you to really wait for the doctors. Ok?" Melissa helped the woman back to the seats.

Scott went to go sit by the woman and I stayed by Melissa. " I know with everything going on is crazy right now but, what's going on with you and my son?" She asked me with a smile on her face. I looked away and looked back at her, " I don't know. I mean we hold hands, we kiss, we hang out. But it's still not official" I was being honest, it wasn't like I was nervous to talk to Melissa she gives me advice with a lot of my problems. " Well I just think that you gotta take the initiative, ask him out first. Trust me that boy is crazy about you" she encouraged me.

" Someone... someone help me! I need help!" A voice shouted and we all turned our heads to see Ethan carrying Danny.

We helped set him down while Scott and I pulled Ethan aside. " What did you do to him?" I questioned, grabbing a fistful of his shirt and brought him down to my height. " Nothing he said he was having chest pains and trouble breathing, but it just kept getting worse" he replied as he grabbed my hand to let go of his shirt.

" This isn't good. How much longer on Dr.Hilyard?" She called out to the nurse at the front desk, " his larynx has shifted to the side. I think it's a tension pneumothorax" she said quickly and moved out of the way as Danny threw up this white substance. " Mistletoe" Ethan and I said in unison as Scott looked at us.

Melissa had gotten a gurney and a few male nurses to help her with Danny. " Can you three go back into the waiting room, please?" She asked us as we followed her.

" Where is the nurses and the doctors? Where's everyone?" Ethan rushed out, " it's a full house tonight. They're tending to other patients" she explained. " Ok, mom, how can we help?" Scott asked her. " You can't. His lung is collapsed. His heart is being pushed against his chest cavity, so...." she trailed off as we looked at Danny. " He's gonna die, isn't it?" I asked sadly, but if that happens I'm so killing Ethan.

" No. No he's not" she said looking around before turning back to us, " Scott grab the tape, and you grab those scissors and cut the shirt open" she demanded. Ethan just ripped open his shirt. Melissa turned around with a big needle. " Ok" she breathed out. " Mom he's not breathing!" Scott exclaimed, " I know, I know" she replied calmly. See if this were me I would totally be freaking out right now.

Her fingers felt around and then stabbed the needle in his chest, she flipped a switch that slowly let air out and began to pull it out slowly. Danny exhaled slowly as he was able to breath normalcy again. " Thank you" Danny smiled weakly. " No problem" she smiled back. Scott, Ethan, and I just looked amazed. "What?" She looked at all of us, " that was awesome!" I exclaimed, making her smile even brighter. " It wasn't a problem, you know? It wasn't a big deal" she tried to shake off the compliment. " That was bad-ass" I complimented her again.
