Surprise

3rd PERSON POV

" It's just so early!" Ariadne complained to her brother as they got in the car. " I know but we've got to handle this" Oceanus started the car and they made their way to the woods. They had gotten a message from their dad saying that demons were in the woods.

" Why could Aries and you handle this?" She asked, but he just shook his head. " So we're supposed to handle demons while you just sleep in?" He asked sarcastically, while she just nodded. " I think I deserve a break" she agreed.

" And even if I wanted Aries to come along, he can't" he said, causing his sister to raise a brow, " he wasn't in his room" he finished. " Probably with Allison. I think they had a date last night" she shrugged.

" I feel like we're forgetting something. Do you think we're forgetting something?" She asked, she was feeling off. " Do you have your bracelet?" She nodded, " then I think we're good" Oceanus just brushed it off to the side. The twins have been feeling off since they woke up and they couldn't put they're finger on it.

They were now by the Hale house, knives in hand. " I don't see why we have to keep cutting our hands. Don't they already sense us?" Ariadne asked her brother. He just shrugged, "I think it makes it harder for them to resist us" and they cut their palm, letting the blood drip down on the leaves.

" Why is there always so many?" Oceanus asked to himself as a large group of demons appeared in front of them. He drew an arm and fired at the first one he saw. Ariadne wrapped her whip around one and stabbed another. The twins traded off weapons on multiple occasions.

" Next time, Aries can come and do all this. I'm tired of it being us out here in the morning or late at night" Ariadne breathed out as she looked at her brother who was just agreeing with her. " I'm tired, I think that I need to sleep" she tapped her brother and they made their way back to the car.

Ariadne was about to get in the car but her brother yelled out, " behind you!" She turned around to see a demon coming straight at her. Oceanus grabbed a dagger and threw one at it, killing it. " Ok now let's go before I almost die again" she hurried and got into the car.

As the twins walked through the door, they were caught by surprise. " Surprise!" The pack yelled. The twins eyes widened in shock, they had forgotten their birthday. So instead of just acting weird, they smiled and gave everybody hugs and thank you's. " You forgot" Scott said as he walked up to Ariadne who was sitting on the couch, she just nodded. " How'd you know?" She asked. " I saw the look on your guys faces. Also I heard your heartbeats" he smiled at her.

" How does it feel? Being 17?" He asked, and she just shrugged her shoulders. " I'm just happy my brother and I made it 17" she appreciated. " Yea, totally get it. But we go back to school soon. What do you think that'll be like?" He asked and all she could do was shrug. She didn't know, and if she was being honest with herself, she didn't care. She realized that no matter what she would always have to deal with the supernatural, wether it be demons or werewolves.

" How about you guys? You know coming back from the dead couldn't have been easy" and now it was Scott's turn to shrug. " I'm ok, well ok as you can be when you die" and she just nodded having the awkward tension between them didn't sit right with her.

" I can see your having a blast" Isaac walked over to her and handed her a cup. She just smiled and took a drink. " You want to get out of here?" He asked and she just looked at him. " And go where?" She asked, " I don't know, why don't we go get something to eat?" He suggested. He got up and held out his hand, she smiled and took it, then both sneaking out.

" A dinner. Are you trying to tell me something?" She teased, and he just shrugged his shoulder, leading her inside. " So, I know you just didn't want to rescue me from the party. So why are we here?" She asked as the waiter set down their food.

" Well I wanted to talk" he admitted, while she was just eating. " I've been worried about you. Ever since the night Scott became an alpha, you've been on edge" he added, " don't worry. It's just been a lot these lat few days but it'll take some time to readjust" she dismissed and went back to eating.

Isaac nodded, " good. But I wanted to give you this. Happy birthday" he slid a box across the table. " Isaac, it's beautiful" she gasped, it was a rose gold bracelet with an A in the middle. "Where did you get this?" She asked. " It was the day we all went out. I knew your birthday was coming up and I thought that the bracelet was your color and I added the A" he explained as he watched her face and saw that she was truly happy.

The shadow hunters got stuck with cleaning after the party. " How is it that we didn't know about any of this and we have to clean it up?" Oceanus asked them as he threw cups in the garbage bag. Aries just shrugged his shoulders, " I don't know. But it feels like a common occurrence in this place" he admitted and Ariadne agreed.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door, " I'll get it" Ariadne set down the broom and walked towards the door. " Hey, can we talk?" Scott asked and Ariadne opened the door a little wider, " no I mean, alone" she nodded and shut the door.

" So what's up?" She asked as they sat on the steps of the porch. Scott handed her a box, a little bigger than the one Isaac gave her. " I was going to give you this earlier but Isaac and you left, so I figured I'd come back later to give you your gift" he said shyly as he watched her open the box. It was a necklace with a blue rose. "Wow this is gorgeous!" She exclaimed, gently rubbing her fingers across the pendent. Scott just adored the smile on her face. " I just saw it in this store a while back and it seemed like the perfect thing for you" as she handed him the necklace to put it on her.

She could feel Scott's warm fingers slide across her back, she quickly turned around and faced him. " How much did this cost?" She asked, she knew with how much they make at the clinic, he had to have been saving up for a while.

" Well Deaton gave me that raise so" and she groaned while he laughed, " I'm gonna have to talk to him about that. I think we should be paid equal" she joked. It didn't really matter to her because it was just a job, she didn't really need the money.

" I thought it was the perfect gift for the perfect girl" Ariadne looked away because she blushed. " Don't look away" his fingers slid under her chin and faced him, " I want to see your smile" and she was smiling.

Scott leaned in and so did she, their lips meeting in the middle. It had been their first kiss since the night Boyd died. " I think we should talk before we do anymore of that" she whispered as she pulled away, Scott agreed. "Not tonight, tonight is your guys birthday. We'll talk another time" he grabbed her hand and gave it a kiss before walking away. Leaving Ariadne there alone, but she was smiling.
