Kendra watched Hermione leave the Great Hall in a tizzy and tried not to smile. As soon as the pair were sure that most people had stopped paying attention to them, Kendra and Theo grabbed two goblets of pumpkin juice and chugged.

"Bleh," Kendra said. "Why does your mouth taste like cigarettes?" Theo stared at her incredulously, eyebrows raised.

"Nice," Lisa said from Kendra's other side. "If you hadn't told me last night, I would have believed that."

Damon winked at her from across the table. She raised her eyebrow at him, not missing how him and Matt were thigh to thigh. He grinned even wider and Kendra shook her head fondly at the exchange.

"I'm off," Theo said, "I've got to go make sure I don't miss what Malfoy's going to say to me." Theo bent down and kissed Kendra on the cheek.

"He won't be too nasty, will he?" Kendra asked, worried for her now "boyfriend's" safety. He shook his head, smiling slightly.

"He'll probably just be jealous that I managed to 'get the girl' before he did. He can't even see how Parkinson hangs of him like a sloth, she would probably let him spit on her and she would think it was hot," Theo grinned at that thought before he walked off, letting his shoulders slump once he thought no one was watching.

"Ugh," Lisa moaned. "We've got class today."

"It's a Monday," Kendra said dryly, standing up and putting  her bag on her shoulder. "Come on, Granger's in Ancient Runes, I don't want her to think I'm tardy all the time."

"You've changed," Lisa said dramatically after she waved to their other friends, who were all going their separate ways as well. "You've got a boyfriend and you're different!"

"Can it, you loon," Kendra said, though she couldn't hold back her giggles. "Isn't it funny, messing around with people like this?"

"Yeah, it is," Lisa replied, smiling at her best friend. "But don't get so carried away with it, yeah? If it's too much work to keep it up, then drop it."

Kendra saluted her lazily. "Aye, aye, captain." Lisa rolled her eyes and they walked into Ancient Runes grinning like a pair of maniacs.

Godric, did class drag on that day. Ancient Runes was alright, but only because Kendra could not-so-subtly stare at Hermione the entire time. And the rest of the day (including double potions) was awful.

Professor Snape had never been particularly nasty to her, not the same way he was to Harry, but he did tend to leer at her while she made her potions. It creeped her out, though she did surprisingly well in his class. Her good grades, however, did not make his class anymore enjoyable, particularly that Monday. Double Potions on Mondays was never something to look forward to.

And at last, when it was all over, Kendra decided she was going to go to the kitchens. Harry had mentioned it in passing to her once, and Damon and Mabel both knew how to get in, though they had been sworn to secrecy by the Hufflepuff prefect who had told them. The kitchens were a Hufflepuff tradition. So when she tickled the pear and entered the kitchens for the first time and Cedric Diggory was sitting at a table, she wasn't surprised.

"Hi, Kendra," Cedric said, beaming at her and waving from over his mug of tea. "Come sit with me!"

"You remember my name," Kendra said, smiling at him as she slid into her seat next to him. There were many pieces of mismatched furniture in the room, along with several plants. Kendra could tell that it had a Hufflepuff's mark written all over it. He shrugged and his smile turned sheepish.

"You're interesting," he replied. He took a sip of his tea. "D'you want some? The house elves would be more than happy to help."

Like a whistle had been blown, a house elf with several wonky looking knitted hats and a jumper on was at the table. Kendra could recognize those tennis ball green eyes anywhere. "Dobby!" she exclaimed, grinned when she recognized the house elf who had tried to save her cousin's life second year.
