8. Wait What

Tessa POV:

"What's wrong," I say. "He woke up but he's still having a little trouble breathing on his own," the doctor says. "What do you mean by a little," I ask. "He can only breathe on him own for five to ten minutes straight then he has to wear the mask again," he answers. "Ok is there anything else wrong with him," I ask. "No but he will have to stay here until he can breathe on his on again," he says.

"Ok can we go see him," I ask. "Yeah room 305," he says. "Ok thanks doctor," I say. He smiles and walks away.

I walk back to Hardin. "What did the doctor say," he asks. "He woke up but he's still having a little trouble breathing on his own," I say. "Damn," he says. "I know," I say back. We stay like this for a couple seconds. "I'm going to get Scarlett up," I say.

He just nods and I walk over to Scarlett. I bend down and shake her lightly. "Hey Scar," I say.  She stirs a little bit but stays asleep. "Scarlett, you have too get up to see Michael," I say.

She opens her eyes slowly and looks at me. I smile at her weakly as she sits up. "What's wrong with Michael," she asks. "Um he still has trouble breathing on his own, I tell her. "She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.

"This is all my fault," she says. "No it isn't, I say. How do you know, you weren't there," she snaps. "Because I know you, and wouldn't hurt anyone much less Michael,"I tell her. "Your right," she says.  "Yeah I know," I joke. We laugh. "Come on let's go see Michael," I say standing up. She stands up and we wrap our arms around each other.

We walk up to Hardin. "Scarlett this is Hardin, Hardin this is my bestfriend Scarlett," I say introducing them."Nice to meet you Scarlett," Hardin says.

"Likewise, Tessa is this the "Hardin Scott," Scarlett says. Hardin looks surprised and I blush and mentally scowl at myself for telling her even though I'm really glad I did. "Yes, now let's go see Michael," I say. "Ok," they both say and we start walking towards the elevators.

"I want to talk to him first ok Tessa," Scarlett says. "Ok that's fine with me Scar," I say. She takes a deep breath. I can her nervousness. I squeeze her hand and smile at her. We stop at the third floor and go to Michael's room.

"Ok I'm going in," she says. "But Hardin," she says looking in his eyes. He looks at her confusedly. "If you hurt her again I will hurt you I'm many ways and I won't feel bad about it, ok," she says then walks into Michael room.

My face is red as a tomato in embarrassment, and is standing there with his mouth to the floor in shock. "I- I'm sorry she's really protective over me," I say. "Um it's ok," he says looking at me. I'm glad you have someone who's protective over you like that," he says. "Yeah, she's great" I say. We stay in silence not knowing what to say.

"Hardin," I say. "Yeah Tessa," he says back. "Why did you ghost me," I ask.

He thinks for a second then takes a deep breath and says, "Melissa said that if talked to you I couldn't have any type of relationship with her and that she would 'no longer be my sister anymore' and I can't lose her you know," he says.

I just nod because I know how important Melissa is too him and that he would do anything for her even if that meant not talking to me anymore. I'm glad me and Brandon don't have that type of relationship cause it's kinda selfish of you ask me because she knows that he would do anything for her and she took advantage of that at the cost of his own happiness.

I would never do that to someone would they know how I feel about it Yes but them not being happy because of something that happened between the two of you is really selfish, I don't know but that's my opinion on it.

"Hey Tess," Hardin says pulling me out of thought. "Yeah," I say looking at him. "What's your ex's name," he asks. 

Oh shit. "Um Hayden, why," I ask. He shrugs his shoulders and says just wondering," he say. "What did he do that made you fall back Tess," he asks with pleading eyes. I take a deep breath. "He-,"  I am interrupted by Scarlett walking out.

Tank God. "You guys can come in now, she says looking at me. Wait she did that in purpose. I love you, Scarlett Walker. As I'm walking towards the room I mouth, "Thank you," to Scarlett and she winks at me. I walk in and see Michael "connected" to a lot of wires. "Michael," I say and run up to him and hug him as tight as I can without hurting him.

"I'm so glad your ok," I tell him. "I'm fine do you can stop worrying now," he says. We pull out of the hug and look at each other. "You know that I'm not going to stop worrying," I say. He sighs and says, "I  know but it was worth the try." We both laugh.

"Wait. where is Scarlett and Hardin," I ask. "I don't know. Wait, did you just say Hardin," he asks. "Yeah why," I say confusedly.

Then Scarlett and Hardin walk through the door. Hardin and Michael see each other.

"Hardin."

"Michael."

Hardin walks over to Michael and they do this handshake thing with huge smiles on there faces. They know each other, what is actually happening.

Btw Michael has three broken ribs and he broke his arm. The reason why Scarlett feels guilty and walked out fine is because Michael shielded her body with his. All she has are bruises.
