on a good day,
y/n can feel the fluidity of the life around her and let every good moment of the day run through her veins.
from the whistle of the winds through the trees,
to the laughter of her peers around her,
she could find the radiance of it.
but, unfortunately, today was not one of those days.
today was quite the opposite.
every footstep she took sounded harsh,
and every laugh that pierced the air made her wince.
"what's going on, dear friend of mine?"
george weasley asked at y/n's side,
draping an arm around her.
with a sigh,
she then shrugged,
"one of those days."
"oh, no! you were doing so good, too. i was really enjoying hearing you explain the tune of the birds outside, and the colors of the flower pedals."
his voice showed no trace of sarcasm,
making her quick to sigh again.
"yeah, yeah, i know."
"don't worry, doll, you'll be back before you know it. i'm here if you need anything. and i do mean anything."
y/n laughed with all the strength her body could exert then nodded,
"thank you, georgie."
he kissed her temple but didn't move himself an inch,
"what do you say you and i have dessert together?"
she gasped,
"really? you want to do it again? i thought for sure you were done after i spilled pudding all over your sheets!"
"mm, you just had to go and remind me, didn't you?"
the two of them shared a laugh,
a genuine laugh y/n needed.
"fortunately, for you, i'll pardon it this time. next time, though, you won't be so lucky. anyways, are we on?"
"yeah, of course. i'll be there."
"good."
he planted another kiss to her cheek then sped off down the opposite way,
catching up to his usual antics.
y/n held her books to her chest and giggled,
growing excited for the night ahead of her.beginning their first year,
when y/n had no friends due to her shy tendencies,
she would begin to eat alone in the comfort of her dorm room.
george soon caught on,
and began to take his dessert up to share with y/n.
there blossomed the best friendship both y/n and george had been blessed with.
so the tradition continued,
up until four months ago when y/n laughed too hard and spilled her pudding all over george's bed.as she took a seat in her class,
the sound of the chalk against the board made her a little happier than it would on most days like this.
***
"ready?"
george asked with an arm extended for y/n to take.
she hid her plate of dessert and nodded,
linking their arms.
"let's go."
the two of them, as thick as thieves, scurried down the halls and hurried to his dorm before anyone could catch them.
y/n sat comfortably against the mattress and watched as he closed the blinds around them,
shielding them away from the world.
george then took a seat across from her,
and dug his spoon in her plate.
"so, how was your day?"
he asked.
"quite alright. started off rather bad, but it got better towards the end. especially now."
"i know. dessert makes everyone happy."
"that is true."
the two of them laughed,
then continued to divulge in deeper conversations.
the more they talked,
the more y/n found herself loud with laughter and smiling so hard her cheeks hurt.
george found himself admiring y/n,
and the way she threw her head back when she laughed.
she was beautiful,
and george couldn't fight this brewing feeling within him anymore.
when y/n's laughter died down long enough for him to get a good look at her,
he allowed the love he had tried so hard to suppress for all these years to finally fill him to the brim.
"come here. you've got something..."
he leaned closer and wiped the corner of y/n's mouth free of the whip cream.
george heard the small hitch of her breathing,
and the sound made his heart swell.
he closed the space between them and allowed the honeyed taste of y/n to coat his tastebuds.
he had never known anything better than this moment right here.
all these years of letting this image play in his mind,
and still it couldn't compare to the actual happening of it.
george pulled away and allowed his lips to follow down her throat,
where he continued to leave her breathless from the simplest of kisses.
"george,"
she whispered out above the smallest of breaths.
he felt his stomach tighten in the best way possible,
and suddenly time ceased to exist.
all that mattered was here,
the girl right under his lips.
he pulled back to look into her eyes,
and found the same love that had clouded his.
"i..i love you, y/n."
he whispered with such vulnerability,
y/n couldn't stop herself from smiling.
"and i love you, george weasley. the best part of me, even on my bad days."
"oh, love, i'm forever yours. even on your worst days."
the two kept their soft, but wide, smiles towards one another until george kissed her again,
desperate for the warmth she offered.
and just when y/n thought the day was nothing but horrible,
it quickly turned into one of the best days of her life.
george weasley and y/n l/n had truly been a match made in heaven,
it was practically written in the stars.
lovers until the end of their time,
even on the bad days.
