"bad day?"
fred asked as he set eyes upon his wife who was curled up in the bed.
"the worst,"
she sighed and turned to look at him.
he peeled his shoes off his feet and climbed into the bed with her,
wrapping his arms around her.
"how was your day?"
she asked,
kissing his chin.
he smiled and looked down at her,
shrugging,
"not bad. better than yours, of course."
"yeah yeah,"
she giggled and relaxed at the feeling of his fingertips tracing up and down her back soothingly.
"i'll forever love you, y/n weasley. even when your days are bad."
y/n stared into his eyes,
and found her way to his lips.
"i'm forever yours."she sat up and began to pant,
wiping the tears off of her face.
it had been nineteen years and yet she still dreamt of fred and his loving ways.
the rubbing of her back,
the massaging of her scalp,
the birthdays,
the holidays.
but it was all just memories now.
although part of her couldn't accept that.
y/n got to her feet and smiled at the post gathered at her front door:
"honey! your letter is here!"
the little boy, who resembled fred so much it sometimes pained y/n, ran excitedly to his mother.
"i got in i got in!"
y/n laughed,
"well of course you did. your father was a very talented wizard."
"i hope to be like him."
y/n smiled as she ran a hand through the boys fiery red hair that stuck out in many different places.
"you will. i have high hopes for you, jon. you'll make your father and i both proud."
***
the days seemed to come quicker than y/n had hoped,
and soon she was sending her son off to board the train.
where she had met the love of her life many years ago.
"write to me if you need anything, okay?"
her eyes teared up,
pulling her last seed of hope to her chest.
"i love you, jon."
"i love you too mum. i'll be good! i'll make you and dad both so proud!"
she smiled and kissed his cheek farewell.jon arrived to the school,
amazed and wonderstruck by how beautiful it was.
his mother had never explained it to be so awesome.
"weasley, jon."
the boy shakily got to the sorting hat,
and felt it wrap around his head.
"another weasley, eh? fred weasley? oh...you're destined for great things, boy. just like he was. better make it gryffindor!"
the kids erupted into cheers as he took a seat next to his childhood friends and family of james potter and hugo weasley.
"oh this is gonna be the best year ever!"
the boys cheered,
and soon began their welcoming feast.
he made new friends at the table and told the tale of his heroic father,
the father he was determined to make proud.as jon walked the corridors of the school,
still shocked in amazement,
he came across a ghost who seemed to have the same red hair as he did.
"you look oddly familiar. ah! you look like the woman i once loved. still do, with no heart, but the love still remains as warm and evident as it once was,"
the ghost spoke as he toyed around jon.
"may i ask your name?"
"jon fred weasley!"
the ghost, having heard both his first and last name,
stood still for the first time in nineteen years.
"how lovely to meet you."
"what's your name?"
"fred. just fred."
"we have the same name!"
fred laughed and nodded his ghostly head,
"that we do."
