y/n trailed into the common room with heavy eyes,
feeling the fatigue increase in her body with each new step.
she laid eyes on oliver who was tucked away in the corner,
hovering over the messy parchment and mumbling beneath his breath.
she smiled and stumbled her way to where he sat,
collapsing into the chair across.
"hey, you,"
he greeted,
though never looking up from his paper.
"hi."
"how was your day?"
she shrugged and began pulling out her own homework,
"exhausting. yours?"
"pretty good."
"how was practice?"
oliver set his quill down and looked up at y/n,
his eyes bright with excitement.
she giggled to herself and watched as his once focused composure melted into one of animation.
"great! it was awesome, y/n, truly."
y/n nodded and looked down at the homework before her,
too tired to register the words that laid imprinted across the parchment.
oliver took notice of her empty stare,
"tired?"
"so...so tired."
he chuckled and took her hand into his from across the table,
letting his thumb brush across her own.
"go lay down."
"i've got so much to do."
"i'll wake you up in an hour. sound good?"
y/n's teeth sank into her bottom lip,
soon deciding she couldn't keep her head up.
"promise?"
"i promise, my love. you can even lay in my bed. i know you prefer mine to yours."
y/n giggled and nodded her head,
making way to oliver's dorm.
it was true,
she preferred to wallow in oliver's scent.
it served as a lullaby,
sending her into the best sleep she could imagine.
oliver stayed below and hurried to finish his own homework before pulling y/n's empty parchment and her spellbook towards him.

now hunkered over y/n's nearly finished homework,
oliver looked at the time and realized it had only been an hour since y/n laid down.
oliver smiled,
having no intention to go and wake her.
his plan had worked after all.
"finished,"
he celebrated quietly,
packing away all of his and y/n's things for the next day.
he tiptoed into the dorm,
careful of the sleeping girl in his bed and the boys around him.
"ollie! your girlfriend gave me a scare earlier! i thought we said you'd keep her out?!"
lee jordan whispered harshly.
oliver chuckled and shrugged,
"you said to keep her out, i never agreed to that."
lee shook his head with a grin,
knowing y/n was going to be harder to keep away from oliver than he thought.

oliver dipped into the bed and scooped y/n into his arms,
admiring her little mutters and the marks across her cheek from the all too comfortable sleep.
"oliver? what time is it? has it been an hour?"
oliver pushed the hair out of her eyes,
kissed her closed eyelids,
then laid a goodnight kiss to her forehead.
"no, no. it's only been thirty minutes. go back to sleep."
she nodded and without a second thought,
drifted off back to sleep in his arms.
the boy felt his eyelids grow heavy,
though he couldn't stop staring at the girl before him long enough to sleep.
everything about y/n seemed molded to perfection now that she laid basking in the faint moonlight,
wrapped up in his blankets.
her light, clean scent seemed ingrained into his sheets,
making his eyelids heavier.
but he fought the sleep to gain just another second of y/n's beauty.
this perfect image of y/n left oliver stunned.
she was relaxed,
freeing herself of all the stress that tensed her muscles,
and was curled into oliver's chest because that's where she felt safest at.
oliver could feel his heart soar while this image burned itself in the back of his mind,
soothing him to sleep.

y/n woke up first the next morning,
looking around in panic as the sun burned her eyes.
my homework!
she looked next to her to find oliver who hadn't moved an inch,
and the restfulness in his face.
it was adorable for y/n.
she forgot about the weight of the world that was heavy on her shoulders,
just for a mere second,
to adore oliver.
she kissed his cheek gently,
sending his eyelids to flutter open.
"good morning, love."
"you didn't wake me up,"
she spoke dreamily,
her eyes glued to his porcelain skin.
"i know. you needed to sleep."
"but my work."
"such little trust in me."
he chuckled and kissed her forehead before getting up to leave the room.
she brought the blanket over her face and inhaled deeply,
allowing oliver's cologned scent to singe her lungs.
she looked towards the dorm door and saw him leaning against the frame of it,
holding parchment that resembled y/n's hand writing just enough to be considered hers,
though she knew better.
"you did it?!"
"yeah. i remembered how you write your a's and your g's, and i just took it from there."
"oliver...you shouldn't have."
he laid himself across y/n's legs and smiled,
"but i did. you deserve a break. plus, if you're so swamped with work, how am i going to take you out this weekend? hm?"
she shook her head with that loving smile of hers planted across her lips,
leaving her no choice but to place a kiss to oliver's forehead.
"you're good. like, really good."
"just want to see you happy."
"well, done and done,"
she joked with a giggle,
making oliver chuckle softly.
he took the palm of her hand and laid tender kisses all around it,
his eyes never leaving hers.
y/n's beauty,
just like it had done in the moonlight,
seemed to have the same affect in the faint sun.
the glow sent rays of her smile to dance across the room,
the life in her eyes brightened.
and oliver was left stunned again,
letting his memory burn another flawless image of
y/n into his mind.
and there,
he tucked these images into the quiet corners of their world where they could remain at peace and only for him to view.
and oliver enjoyed that fact more than anything;
that these stunning images of y/n remained only to him.
it was a fair trade after all,
she had his heart,
and he had the echos of her beauty entrenched into  his memory.
then he decided,
there was no greater feeling.
