george sulked in his seat next to his twin brother,
eyeing the wedding around him.
"alright there, georgie?"
"sure. bored."
"me too. this party could use some kind of..magic, eh?"
fred asked and raised his eyebrows,
taunting his brother.
george almost gave in before catching sight of his mother's stern look,
erasing every mischievous idea in his mind.
he crossed his arms and scanned the crowd full of people one more time in hopes of finding something interesting.
and once his eyes fell on y/n,
his heart instantly fluttered deep within his chest.
"fred, who is that?"
he asked with such eagerness,
it surprised his brother.
"y/n l/n? a family friend of fleur's or something."
"uh huh,"
george nodded with a smile.
he got to his feet and began striding over to where the girl he suddenly adored stood.
but as he grew closer,
the words seemed to become caught up in his throat.
his heart raced nervously,
trying to search his mind for something to say.
something to woo her.
something to amaze her.
but as he stared at her angelic face that glimmered in the faint lights of the matrimony ceremony,
nothing came to mind.
he stood there,
frozen and speechless,
as her eyes set themselves upon him.
"hi there,"
she smiled with a wave.
"hey."
"did you help with this?"
she asked and waved a graceful finger around the place.
"yes, yeah."
"you did a great job. it's beautiful!"
"you're beautiful,"
he mumbled,
instantly feeling the wave of crimson on his cheeks.
y/n giggled,
"thank you. you look very handsome too, if i may."
george laughed and felt the nerves shake off his shoulders,
bringing him back to reality.
"do you want to dance?"
"i'd love to."
the pair took to the designated area and began to dance with each other,
their hands locked shyly.
"so you're related to fleur?"
"hardly. she's a close family friend. but, like my sister, you know?"
george nodded,
"i understand. it's like harry. practically another brother."
y/n giggled that enthralling laugh of hers,
making the hair on george's body stand.
had he ever met someone so captivating and alluring?
no!
and if he was ever sure of anything,
it was the answer to that question.
"so, how long are you in town for?"
"i'm not quite sure."
"well, better make the most of it."
y/n nodded with a smile and laid her head on his shoulder,
feeling the euphoria from the night beginning to come to an end.
"i'm rather tired, george. aren't you?"
"exhausted. you would think it'd be easy to set up a wedding. i mean, let's be honest, it's only two words!"
y/n let her body shake with laughter,
"it's the beauty of it all! tell me,"
she began and pulled her head from his shoulder to face him again,
"do you ever plan to get married?"
george had never seen himself getting married.
truth be told,
he never wanted to.
but as he stared into the girls eyes and felt the world around him drown out,
he could only see her.
she remained in his arms,
letting george soak in all her beauty.
but he knew there was never going to be enough time to really comprehend just how ethereal she was.
he nodded slowly at first,
not able to find the words to explain how marriage would only be possible with her.
the air caught itself in his lungs as she began to spin,
wafting the aroma of her redolent scent.
"yeah...yeah, i do."
y/n nodded and felt something inside of her click as she looked into his eyes.
the little golden flecks that twinkled in the lights of the wedding made her stomach tighten while the butterflies took over.
"hm..me too."
y/n swallowed hard at the sight of george before her.
"still tired?"
he asked,
noticing her vacant stare.
she quickly returned back to earth and nodded with a gentle laugh,
"very."
"say...you wouldn't be opposed to a weasley sleepover, would you?"
y/n looked around the crowded scene and shook her head,
"actually...no, not at all."

george and y/n quickly snuck up to his room while everyone remained at the reception,
their loud laughs of mischief drowning out with the music of the party.
"say, y/n, i've known you for barely some hours and i'm already rubbing off on you."
"think so? you've only known me for hours! what makes you think i wasn't already like this?"
she teased as he closed the bedroom door.
she turned to face him and realized how close he was.
george stepped closer to her and placed a hand to her cheek,
his thumb running across her bottom lip.
"you're right...but can i tell you what i do know?"
her lungs suddenly stopped working,
leaving her only to nod.
he smiled at her and continued,
"i do know you're amazing, beautiful, and insanely smart. you're funny, you're passionate. and you're so..."
he stopped,
unable to find the words to express just how breathtaking she was.
"y/n, i don't think there's a word to explain you. you're entirely too unique."
she buried her head into his chest and felt the warmth spread around her body.
"thank you."
"no need to thank me. only telling the truth, doll."

y/n and george laid together that night,
their arms wrapped around one another so tangled it was hard to distinguish where y/n began and where george ended.
"just when i think you can't get more beautiful, you throw on my shirt and wow...chills!"
he exclaimed with a hand to his heart,
sending y/n into fits of laughter.
"you know, george, you're pretty unique too. i've never met someone quite like you."
"is that a good thing?"
she lifted her head to face him,
then nodded slowly.
"the greatest,"
she returned then closed the space between them.
the warmth y/n's lips provided made george run numb.
his limbs went blank while his mind was sent into a frenzy.
y/n was the gift that kept on giving,
he realized.
the feeling of her fingers combing the nape of his neck made his heart stammer inside his chest.
it was sensational.
nothing in this life could have ever prepared george for this moment.
her taste was sweet and her lips were tender.
he knew then his lips would be chapped by the end of the night.
then suddenly,
george reminded himself to breathe.
and as he pulled back,
the air filled his lungs quickly and settled with y/n's scent.
they continued to breath heavily as one,
but never moving an inch.
her forehead continued to rest against his,
his breathing ghosting her lips.
"promise me something,"
y/n whispered.
"anything."
"promise me you'll remember me, no matter how far we're apart."
george let the chuckle loose as he pecked her lips.
"y/n, love? i could never forget you. no matter how hard i try, you'll forever remain in my heart,"
