y/n smiled and laid herself back against the dewy grass,
letting her eyes trace the night sky above her.
it was breathtaking,
she thought admirably.
the stars had never been so bright.
y/n loved many things about hogwarts,
her friends,
who were practically family,
her amusing classes,
the professors who felt like family of her own.
but nothing could beat the way the sky lit up with the brightest of stars.
she closed her eyes  and took in a slow and deep breath,
letting the fresh and cool air burn her lungs.
she was content with life.
"hey,"
the voice carried through the wind and settled within y/n,
making her lips turn into a smile.
she kept her eyes closed as the shuffling grew closer to her,
then made himself comfortable next to her.
"glad you could make it."
"and pass up a stargazing night with you?"
y/n laughed soft and felt the warm hand grab hers,
though the difference in temperatures was noticeable.
she let cedric's hand warm her own and felt the strong scent of his cologne surround her.
y/n held in a breath to let the scent linger and remain in her possession until she could no longer bare the lack of oxygen.
when she could exhale again,
she listened to the sounds of cedric's steady breathing and the whistling of the wind in her ears.
"i missed you today,"
he whispered gently and traced her jawline,
sending the chills through her body.
with her eyes still closed,
she smiled big.
"i missed you too."
then she opened her eyes.
her hallucination had come and gone like they had always done.
she looked to her side to find cedric,
only to find empty air where he should be.
y/n sighed sadly and pursed her lips together in hopes of stopping the tears.
she turned her attention back up the sky and took in a clean breath rather shakily,
then produced the best smile she could.
"i miss you. i'll love you more than life itself,"
she whispered and let the chilly winds carry that message for her.
she hoped cedric,
wherever his spirit may be,
would receive that message.
life without cedric was hard.
and y/n was trying her hardest to manage.
but as she made her way to her common room,
she let a soft smile play at her lips.
she knew she'd see him again tomorrow,
for he was never truly gone.
cedric's love was endless.
and she felt that with each passing day.
